I've been overweight all my life and it's never affected me. Married, had children, had a good job I've now retired from enabling me to spend time with grand children and friends.
During a holiday with friends last year I became breathless and tired. On returning to the UK I saw my gp who referred me for tests. I have atrial fibrillation and it's affecting my life.
My eldest has moved to south Wales. I'm unable to visit as I struggle to walk any distant at the moment. Likewise doing things with friends is a challenge.
The medication will take time to work because of my size and further options carry risks.
For the first time my weight is impacting on my quality of life. I'm 57 with years left hopefully, so I need a reality check and start the process of losing weight in a SMART (specific, measurable, achievable, realistic and timely ) way.
