I have been having problems with my health had an ablation end of October then had chest infections etc have had to have time off work so have been feeling down so have been comfort eating and not having much exercise. I am ashamed to say have put over a stone on due to go back to work so although I am feeling a lot better I hate the way I look and feel due to my weight and I know it is definitely not good for me with my A F and general health. I have had lots of failed attempts at dieting joined slimming clubs but not been able to sustain it infact as soon as I am on a diet all I think about is food. So after my venting I am going to try again with the N H S and the help of fellow dieters fingers crossed.

Trying hard not doing well but not giving up
Hi,
Don’t give up I bet there are a lot of people who comfort eat (me included).
Try downloading myfitnesspal app costs nothing I love it.
Good luck
Wendy
Hi Vanessa! I had ill health for the same period as you and also put a stone on in that time. (On top of the rest!) It’s nothing to be ashamed of, it happens so easily when you’re feeling down and are struggling to get going.
Now that you’re feeling a little better, and you’re engaged with your diet and health again, it will be much easier. You’ve already taken the first step, that’s something to be proud of.
Good luck with it all!
Thanks I have a lot of weight to lose but I am going to focus a bit at a time because it seems so unachievable when you think I need to lose at least 5 stone. It is lovely to read all the posts and know you aren't the only one that struggles . Thank you
Hi vanessaburton1956 this is the best place to be are are a friendly bunch. I had around 5 1/2 stone to lose when I first started here I have lost 1 1/2 stone so still a long way to go but slowly a steady is the motto so welcome
Welcome vanessaburton1956 , you're in the right place for help and support ☺ I am just starting week 6, have lost 15lbs so far, but need to lose around 7 STONE in total to reach a healthy BMI! I don't really think about that huge number, as it's very off putting & seems insurmountable, so trying to set smaller mini goals - 1/2 stone, next stone barrier, 1 stone, etc., & reward myself (with non food treats!) for achievements. Good luck on your journey, there's always someone here to cheer you on, or listen if you need a rant 👍☺
Thank you so much for your advice it does seem impossible when you look at your goal as a big amount but like you I am going to do it a bit at a time. Thank you for all your kind comments and support I feel really motivated to start again fingers crossed
when you are unwell comfort eating can be the norm, don't beat yourself up - take care and when you are feeling better get back on the wagon
Hope you are feeling well soon x x
Thank you for your kind advice. x
Hi. I agree with all the others that it is best not to think about the big numbers, just take one day at a time. I have also got over 5 stone to lose, I am just giving the 12 week programme a chance and so far I have found it good for me. So is the support on here. Good luck
