Starting today! Middle aged but not giving up

Hi everyone! I have joined last week and I have tried to stay on the healthy side of eating, but today it's the proper start for me. Good luck to everyone else as well. With summer approaching I am fed up with my uniform of leggings and my husband's jumpers. I am 42 and have been up and down with my weight for the past 10 years. I have a lovely wedding coming up end of June and I hope to lose 10kg. I know it's ambitious but this is the plan: eat two small meals a day and go to the gym 4 times a week. Let's see if some accountability will help me stick with it.

Hi, Newoldme , Welcome.

I have got over being middle-aged, but I did not give up, and I have lost about four stone in time for my 70th birthday.

"Eating two small meals a day" or Intermittent Fasting was my main strategy. Would you like to join us on the Fasting and Furious forum? You could be our 300th member! See:

Hi Newoldme and welcome. Congrats on your upcoming wedding.

I don't want some of the first words you hear to be contrary to your current thinking and I sincerely hope that your ambitions are met.

Perhaps instead, I should ask you how this method of weight loss differs from your previous attempts! On the face of it and judging from your second post, it appears that you're going to be eating too little, which will leave the body craving food plus on top of that you're going to be upping your exercise requiring your body to demand yet more.

Like I say, I hope you can achieve your goals :)
