Not doing well
Sorry to hear you are feeling down. Perhaps you need to tweak what you are doing? I need to keep my carbs fairly low to lose any weight.
Thank you Penel will have a look been naughty had a few chocs now I feel guilty x
Try not to feel guilty. Even chocolate is ok in a small helping, and 3 little chocs is not excessive, just add them into your days total and adjust the other meals ( or next days) . Try using ' myfitnesspal ' to work out your food and drink and exercise calories..... its helping many if us on here. As you get used to calorie counting you may not want to 'waste' precious calories on high calorie stuff anyway, but when you do fancy a bit of chocolate youll know how to work it into your days total. Good luck.
Thank you Elliebath its great getting support and advice on this problem will keep at it as I need to lose it this time what is it they say ...do or die .....and am sure as **** I am not ready for that I am so set in my ways its hard to change ,,,, but I will keep on trying x
Are you following a low carb diet? Could be the reason you have no energy. Try to eat dark choc less calories and sugar than milk choc so it's not too terrible for you but that's only when you slip. Like Ellie said adjust your calories and don't binge and it won't set you back much, we all do need a lil something every now n then just not daily.
If your stuck at a certain weight maybe give us some examples of your eating plan/exercise plan currently, try tracking your calories, weight of food and maybe start a journal...if your being truthful you will see exactly where your going wrong.
If you need help just ask your not alone in this. Do you know what I personally do for weight loss including all the above? I have motivation mixes...pictures of things I want to look better for, music playlists on YouTube dedicated to motivational speeches, playlists for gym etc...fill yourself with positive people and environments and success is bound to come.
Thank you so much jsports you have gave me food fo thought lol got a dvd called palates fo dummies so am giving it a try my dinner tonight I had 2 slices of cold ham salad potatoes and colliflower for lunch I had a skinny latti but I did have a fruit scone and butter ..naughty I know but I will take this on board this low carb I dont get ,, could not understand it but I WILL read it again thanks again , got a shock today was having a look at the codes on things and must admit I put them back down so I think I am no realising how many cals are in the things I eat but the fat inthem ...well I will say no more ....
Did you weigh it? I took a study few months back at uni where I had to weigh and add the calories up and I over-estimated on everything so did the other 85% of the test group...turns out...we all suck at gauging how much were eating and exercising. Haha iv started a food diary trying to add it all up...I realise I don't do too bad...until you see the one stop binge once a week and my calories is insane haha must remember I'm not 16 anymore where I could eat 16 slices of caramel shortbread and lose weight...yes you read that right haha but I played sports 7 days a week 4x a day so I could do it. Everyone said I should eat more...I was defo having a good go haha.
It is the cals that are more important than the amount of fat, at least for losing weight. "Reduced fat" often has tons of added sugar, so not good for you either. But it sounds like you are getting on the right track with reading labels carefully and not just looking at the claims on the front of the product. Try keeping a food diary so you can see the patterns in your eating and work out what you could easily change to make healthier choices.
I personally don't find I need to go "low-carb" to lose weight. But I did find while losing weight that eating less carb and more protein kept my fuller for longer. Also after drinking calories I would quickly be hungry again. Latte are quite bad for that. I used to often order a grande vanilla latte from Starbucks to have with breakfast - probably around 260 for the coffee alone, never mind the muffin I had with it (oops). I now order Americano or skinny latte instead to get my coffee hit on the way in to work.
Hope you enjoyed your pilates DVD
Hi Bluexbaby
'Low carb' just means not eating more carbs than your body needs. If you are very active then you will need more carbs than someone who is not active. Some people find that things like bread do not suit them, so get most of their carbs from vegetables and fruit. One of the important thing to look for on labels is the sugar content, and choose the low sugar or no sugar option.
Hope you enjoy the Pilates, I have found it really good for developing strength and flexibility.
Thanks Penal thats help me ..the Pilates are coming on slowly as when I get sore I stop but finding that I am doing a little bit more at a time I seem to feel thinner and one of my tops fit a bit loser now but I still weigh the same ,, there again not due for my weigh in till monday so we will see then thanks again
Ever tried eating like a bodybuilder/gym goer? That's right in your dinner I saw 2 tiny slices of ham aka pork rest was carbs and veg. Protein takes longer to digest than fat and especially carbs. Want to feel fuller for longer need to increase your protein intake and eat regularly 3 meals + 2 healthy snacks. When I worked at coffee shop last summer I realised how much calories a latte actually is...as I was latte man myself lol. If you can try swapping to normal Americano. A tiny bit of milk is better than a whole cup...even if it is "lighter"...I love these reduced fat rubbish...because it's reduced from god awful to awful haha. If I ate your dinner I would be starving by 10pm and thus binging. Food for thought..so to speak hehe yesterday I had chicken breast marinated in fajita spice home cooked with Mediterranean couscous and some carrots/broccoli.. If you try to keep carbs to your first size same with protein and rest veg you should have a decent meal that fills you up yet still ticks the boxes r.e nutrition. Just like the don't cut carbs, don't cut protein either literally a really good way to feel full. O and take my challenge...0-1 piece of bread in a day....it's actually really difficult haha or least for me.
Thanks so much. For your input great help got a plan now and have started writing things down ...That I find is making me think more of what I am doing great idea ,, so I now need to come to grips with my exercise now ....think I just wanted to get it right to quickly but taking in what has been said I WILL get there x
