I am currently signed up with slimming world and I have lost around 7lbs in a few weeks but I need to lose 3st. The only thing I am struggling with is keeping motivated. Any ideas?

you have done really well... and keeping motivated is the key. I have never joined SW or WW but have found the NHS 12 week plan really good for building up better habits.. I need to lose another 3 stone but I am slowly getting there and this forum really helps me stay on track.

Have you joined a weigh in on here? You can choose any day you like and somehow, knowing I am posting my weight helps me keep on track when I would other wise have given in...

Have a browse round, you may find a group which will suit you. I am sure one of the admins will be on in a few minutes to point you in the right direction and it is worth joining the newbie group as a starter..

Good luck... you can do this! We are all in it together!!

Those are the correct words, "better habits". :)

I need to lose another three and a half stone, give or take a pound or so. So you are in good company. ;) My son-in-law joined Slimming World nearly four years ago, he seems to like it. It isn't for me though, neither is Weight Watchers as I can't be bothered with points, free food, and all that jazz.

I find calorie checking, I no longer find I have to physically count them anymore, works better for me. I know roughly what calories everything is before I eat it.

I think posting ones weight on here in black and white does help. Although I've only been a member for a few days.

You are doing well so far. Well done.I am an ex slimming World member. I found the weight loss good initially but after a few months it stopped. I did find the plan extremely constipating and struggled as a result. My diet has always been high in fibre so put it down to the lack of fat in the plan. Fat seems to be a bad word on some diet plans. After several months of struggling with this problem I left. I now calorie count . I don’t have that issue now.

Regarding motivation I found variety the key. It’s easy to eat the same thing for your meals on a daily basis and you’ll soon get bored. The slimming world website has a fantastic amount of recipes at your disposal and they taste really good. Try out different things each week. The scales moving in a downhill direction is good motivation but sometimes you will stay the same but you will find you have lost inches instead. Non scale victories are wonderful.

Hi Emmetalda

I found after losing the first stone I was a dress size smaller and that was a great motivation

Keep going and you will be delighted with the result and looking better

Best wishes

Well done that's half a stone gone !

I do Sw and I'm really struggling at the moment but I think it's hormonal ( new to hrt ) I find introduction of a new meal every week keeps it interesting and once you are in a dress size smaller then that will power you forward . Remember if you are doing body magic to log it and tell your consultant 😀
