Hi Luciene and welcome.
There'll be plenty of information to read when one of the admins replies to your post.
Just wanted to say that there's no need to be too concerned about being sedentary. With mindful eating, it is still possible to lose weight, regardless of the level of exercise you can attain.
Saying that, it's always a help if you can do some exercise and hopefully the information I mentioned, will help you consider how you may be able to fit that into your life.
Hi and welcome Hidden , wishing you all the best with your weight loss journey
Hi and welcome Hidden I am also sat in front of a computer or in meetings most of the day, so know how you feel about being sedentary - I work in an office so have the walk from the carpark and back daily and try and get out for at least 30 minutes walk at lunch time
I would like to invite you to join our Newbie Club, which we hope will be a good place for you to connect with members, who are also just starting out, or re-starting.
If you just post a few words on the September Newbie Club thread to introduce yourself and respond to others there you will soon feel part of the club.

Please read all the information carefully, it is very useful and can be referred to whenever you want to check something.
I have also given you a week 1 badge
It just remains for me to wish you well on your journey
My husband works in an office so he makes sure that he uses the exercise bike for 30 minutes each day and we walk the dog for 30 to 40 minutes each evening.
You could incorporate some exercise by doing a few squats, worktop 'bench' presses or jumping jacks whilst the kettle boils for your cup of tea. Take a look at the Leslie Sansone 1 mile walk on youtube - it takes 15 minutes and is a good pace and fun.
Hi Lucienne
I suggest you make sure you stand up from the computer and walk around every 30 mins
If you have a staircase climb the stairs every hour. It will raise your heart rate and hep you burn more calories
hiya, I built in exercise by walking to the tube instead of catching the bus, which guarantees me 20 minutes' walking each day, so when I am working from home I make sure I leave the house even if it's just for a quick walk around the block at lunchtime. (I'm not one for gyms or classes so I try to adjust what I have to do anyway to incorporate activity.) Luckily I live on top of a hill so half an hour round the neighbourhood on foot can burn quite a few calories and tones up my legs! More importantly though, it makes me feel better. I go back to my computer fresher and brighter. Working from home while convenient can also be isolating and not particularly healthy, at least that's what I find.
My son works from home once a week and prefers to go out to a cafe for lunch rather than eat at home for the same reasons - it makes him go out, and provides social contact and a change of scene. It also prevents him snacking as he knows he's got lunch planned.
Good luck!
You could get an online calorie counter like Myfitnesspal or Nutracheck so you can record every morsel or drink that passes your lips - you can see the graph line going down, and spend your spare moments looking up exciting recipes! Also, chatting on this forum is a great booster to your will power. Lastly, have you got a dog, or a neighbour's dog to borrow? That gets you outside, walking for at least 10 mins 3 times a day.
