Hi all,
I should have probably posted this 6 weeks ago but didn’t want to apply too much pressure to myself to stick to my goal of completing the c25k programme.
So here I am having just finished week 6 of the programme and now running for 25 consecutive minutes which I am unbelievable proud of! Never have I ever managed to run for this amount of time; even as a very active teenager I was often selected for the sprint races in athletics as my endurance was pants!
I have started the c25k before but from the start of this attempt something was different, almost like a switch was turned on and I have found this new determination I have so often lacked in the past - I am definitely over the moon about this 😁
My end goal is to obviously complete the full 9 week programme and maintain 3x 5k runs a week for a short while before increasing this gradually as I become fitter - does anybody know if there is a similar programme available for the next step so as not to overdo it as I’m just starting to fall in love with running and wish to avoid falling out with it by pushing myself too far too soon.
Anyway, apologies for the essay but I just wanted to share my experience and to say that if you’re like I was and struggling to maintain motivation please stick with it, your ‘switch’ moment will come!!! 😀
