Hi, this is my first day on this site and the end of the first week of my diet/Healthy Eating plan. I have been asked by a Doctor to lose 1 stone, but as an RA patient and on a strong drug, this will be hard as only 1lb loss, being very good and cutting out a lot of carbs. I don't eat any meat except chicken and have salads and fish a lot. Like many on their own, a bit problem is a sweet tooth (sweetener on lots of things helps). I am trying to eat fruit and salt crackers in between meals. Any tips would be great and do you think at 5ft 8, 1,300 calories a day should lose more than a llb a week?
Many Thanks and good luck too.

About your calorie allowance we are about the same height and 1.300 calories is not enouggh for me.May I suggest you re-calculate.
I strongly suggest you read and contribute to the Daily Diary and participate in a Weekly Weigh in.

At 5ft 8", 1300 calories is way too low and I would suggest committing completely to a low carb way of eating and eating to appetite. Crackers and fruit aren't low carb (these may help dietdoctor.com/low-carb/vis... and the fruit and sweeteners will keep 'feeding' your sweet tooth. Eating between meals will put your body into fat storage mode and I suggest that you increase the fat content of your meals for satiety, then snacking won't be necessary. Here are a few things for you to look at:
