Good morning Brodiesmumxxx welcome to the forum, have a look at the NHS 12 week plan, this is more of a new way of eating for life rather than a diet You will find a link to it in the Newbie Club
I would like to invite you to join our Newbie Club, which we hope will be a good place for you to connect with members, who are also just starting out, or re-starting.
If you just post a few words on the December Newbie Club thread to introduce yourself and respond to others there you will soon feel part of the club.
Follow this link to the Newbie club: healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...
Please read all the information carefully, it is very useful and can be referred to whenever you want to check something.
It just remains for me to wish you well on your journey
Hello and welcome Brodiesmumxxx 😊
Hi Brodiesmumxxx and welcome.
Draw some comfort from the fact that most of us have turned up here with pretty much the same story as yourself.
For now, read everything that cracker has posted for you, especially everything in the link. The information will help you start your health journey and help you use this forum to continue that journey.
All the best.
Welcome Brodiesmumxxx , a lot of us on this forum have been dieting most of our adult lives. This is where the diet stops and the healthy eating and new life style begins. Once you have read all the information and familiarised yourself with this wonderful forum, make some changes that you can sustain. Don't try doing everything at once. My best advice is to get a notebook and write everything down that you eat, be honest with yourself and see what you can improve on. Get rid of the 'low cal diet food', usually full of sugar, start eating proper food and make sure you are eating enough. Check your BMI and then you will know what your calorie intake should be, don't start too low, it won't be sustainable. Come on to the forum and join in as much as you can and you will soon make a whole new circle of friends and get loads of support.
Wishing you good luck
Hello Brodiesmumxxx , just want to back up what everyone else has said.
No more diets (you're not the only one who's realised they don't work )
Be honest with yourself about every bit you eat and decide where you will make your first changes.
Use the NHS 12 week plan as a guide - it's certainly helping me.
Find your way around this forum following the links cracker sent you and get involved; there seem to have been quite a few Newbies lately so you'll be in good company.
Shelve the big number and set yourself mini targets.
Be kind to yourself; you can do this, a bit at a time, and you'll find loads of encouragement and ideas here
Hello Brodiesmumxxx and welcome to this wonderful supportive forum. You have come to the right place, it is full of people like you who are trying to change their life around. As Hidden said, this is not a diet but a new way of living using healthy fresh food, and moving a bit more at the core of it. Good luck and keep posting as we would all love to hear how you are getting on, also you are likely to be more successful if you have support. Best wishes NannyEJ.
