Hey guys a good few months since I was last here and I seem to have lost my way!! I was doing so well losing almost 2 stones, going to the gym and exercising 3 times a week. Now I have gained 9lbs , have no motivation and want to hide away from the world again. Cakes and chocolate have become my crutch once more. I need to break the cycle.....help 😢

Hello and welcome back nellie_deany 😊
Very well done tackling the gain before it becomes a bigger issue, and also on not delaying until January as so many people are tempted to do. You have enough time to stop the gain in it’s tracks and reset some of those healthy habits, starting with proper meals and good nutrition to prevent cravings and help us cope in these cold winter days 😊
Why don’t you join our Newbie Club, which is a good place for you to connect with newer members, who are just starting out. If you just post a few words to introduce yourself and respond to others there, you'll soon break the ice. Here's the link

You'll find all the information you need to navigate the forum in the header and a link to the 12 week plan, so please take the time to read it carefully and refresh yourself of all the benefits 😊
best wishes

Well done you have taken th3 first and most important step by coming back to the forum. There is absolutely no doubt that regular contact on here has a positive impact on health and well being, including weight.
I look forward to seeing you around and hearing that you have dispensed with the chocolate crutch.
Hi nellie_deany . Welcome back. You've still lost almost 1.5 stone so a 9lb gain is not too bad. I'm sure that now you're back on the forum you'll feel better and get plenty of encouragement and support from all our lovely members. I find that eating high protein and cutting the starchy carbs keeps me from craving chocolate and cakes. Why not start logging your meals on the Daily Diet thread? You'll get lots of good ideas for meals there, it definitely helps me stay on track.
Wishing you the best of luck.

You have already broke the cycle by coming back here, well done for doing that. I disappeared for a few weeks and realised that being a regular on here definitely helps to keep you focused. When motivation is low the lovely people on here can help put things into perspective. You have done it before and you can do it again.
