Hello Lottylavender and welcome. Congratulations on quitting smoking! You're obviously someone who can take on a challenge and succeed!

You'll be getting an official welcome and introduction to this site shortly. I just wanted to say you're in good company here and you'll get plenty of support and ideas if you get involved.

My tip would be, don't focus on the four stone but set yourself a short term, achievable goal and start working towards that. Good luck :)

Well done on stop smoking, this is excellent. I know that feeling of weight creeping up and up.

Being in the right frame of mind to change is important. I would cut my portions down, opt for healthy snacks and stick within healthy calorie range for weight lose.

Wishing you lots of success on your journey.

Hi, good on you for making that step to quit smoking for your health. I can assure you, it will be worth it in the end.i have also made that decision to stop smoking and drinking for my health sake, I personally have not not benefited in the past. I am not doing too bad.thats just me, but take it one day at a time. There will be times when you feel down, but think of the journey and what's waiting on the other side.

I was the same but Ive lost 4 1/2 stone by eating a diet protein shake for breakfast, 5 olives as s snack, chicken small salad lunch then meat or fish with veg for dinner, sometimes I make a curry and have it with salad. Evening snacking raspberry, blueberries with Greek yogurt. Fairly low carb higher protein but I make sure I add veggies of different colours to meals and have occasional sweet potato in the curry. Hope this help.

Good for not smoking!! I quit too after 25 years. I did put on weight as well. Now I have 20 left. Good luck to you.
