Hello, so now 3 weeks on a diet and I have lost 1stone. In the last 3 days I have maintained boohoo, it is very frustrating... especially if the scales go up half a pound after eating healthy!! I am starting a new job on Monday, I really need some ideas for lunches... I am not really a fan of soup, what do u guys have for lunch on a working day? X
Hello again: Hello, so now 3 weeks on a... - Weight Loss Support
Hello again
I have tuna, tomatoes, cucumbers or left overs from dinner the night before. Wraps are good too.
First of all, a stone is incredible in three weeks! Do you have much more to lose? That is well over the average weight loss. When I started my weight loss journey (over five years ago) it took me 16 weeks (4 months) to lose my first stone! A good rate of loss to aim for is one pound a week, and clearly you've been doing far better than that! Eventually your weight loss will plateau.... stall..... and you may even see a small gain. It's just the bodys way of regulating itself.
Please don't be put off by what your scales tell you on a daily basis. It's absolutely fine to weigh yourself every day - but please try to just take a weekly reading and record it somewhere.
Bodies are not machines and lots of things will alter your weight on a daily basis - fluid retention, illness, lack of sleep, exercise levels, salt intake, etc.
Lunch suggestions: Even though it's autumn, I still like salads - make them interesting by adding some different things - grated celeriac, cooked pasta, rice, beetroot, chopped chicken, etc. A salad doesn't just have to be salad leaves and tomatoes!
Just read a few of your past posts and now see that you don't have heaps and heaps to lose.
Slightly concerned that you might have unrealistic expectations about how much you can expect to / want to lose each week? The danger time is right now - as you may find as a result of not seeing a huge loss, you think "what's the point?!" and return to old eating habits.... I had been trying to lose weight all of my life and this kind of yo-yo dieting approach doesn't work
Please just be very happy with that fantastic loss over 3 weeks - it really is a great achievement! And keep on going. Any loss is a loss and will take you closer to your goal weight and well done for planning ahead with your new job and thinking about lunch ideas now, which will give you the chance to buy the things you need!
Thankyou, I have around 4 and a half to loose. I would like to be 11 and a half stone again. That would suit me down to the ground. Thankyou for your lunch ideas, planning them now as organisation is key!! Otherwise biscuit trays will look appealing lol.
So that''s exactly the same amount as I had to lose. It took me 119 weeks (two and a half years!) But I did it... eventually. Take a look at my weight loss chart here:

You will see there were lots of bumps along the way!
Well done on losing that 1 stone! I've found that sometimes my weight will fluctuate and I might feel like I've done well but my weight has gone up over the course of a week. There are a lot of variables. You just have to keep plugging away at it. It's not the daily or even weekly change that is important. It's how you are in several months time or even longer.
You have done amazingly well in a very short space of time. Weight loss will slow down but just keep on keeping on.
What about a home made salad that is way more interesting than a shop bought one. Roasted veg and feta cheese, Carrot noodles with spicy chicken.
Check out the recipe section on Topics and also the Daily Diary, loads of menus on there to give you ideas.
I'll take your stone anyday,we have to plateau at sometime.
You are doing well.
