Hello and welcome to the Weight Loss Forum gazz_nod 😊
Firstly, I'd like to invite you to join our Newbie Club, which we hope will be a good place for you to connect with members, who are also just starting out. If you just post a few words to introduce yourself and respond to others there, you'll soon break the ice. Here's the link
healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh...
You'll find all the information you need to navigate the forum in the header and a link to the 12 week plan, so please take the time to read it carefully.
Secondly, why do you think 1200 calories is the correct amount for you? This is very low and I suspect will make you hungry and very difficult to stick to. If you check out your BMI on the NHS site (link in the Newbie Club) you may well find a much higher suggested target. Most evidence suggests eating too little is the biggest cause of weight loss failure 😕
Wishing you all the best
Anna
I suggest that 1200 calories per day is very low. Please follow Anna'a advice and check out your BMI and the suggested calorie intake and then try to eat healthily at the top end of that.
Enjoy your journey to your new lifestyle. I look forward to seeing you around.
Welcome. That is great going to the Doctor. You should ask about a fitness program to start off with. Good luck with your journey and keep us posted!!!
Welcome to the community!!
Hi good luck and please do look at your BMI and calorie range it could make all the difference for your weight loss
You are unlikely to succeed at 1200 calories as 1. you are very likely to give in as this is not a sustainable amount and 2. your body will go into starvation mode and hang onto every ounce of fat. The advice above is spot on, work out your calorie range and stick within it. That way you will lose weight steadily and sustainably. Good luck with it. James
