Hi and welcome, Wantorun2013 :)

I know of no magic potion to cure the cravings, I'm afraid it's down to willpower. I cured my addiction by cutting sugar out of my diet completely.

I'd like to invite you to join our Newbie Club, which we hope will be a good place for you to connect with members, who are also just starting out. If you just post a few words to introduce yourself and respond to others there, you'll soon break the ice. Here's the link

You'll find all the information you need to navigate the forum in the header, so please take the time to read it carefully.

Wishing you all the best :)

hi wantorun2013. I'm doing the 8 week blood sugar diet and my cravings for sweet stuff have just started to reduce, and I am at week 4 and a bit. Approach each day with the attitude that just for those 24 hours you can go without sugar and if you're like me you'll be a few weeks in before you know it. Sugar is 8 times more addictive than cocaine so don't beat yourself up if you have a relapse or 2. Let me know if this helps🤞

Many thanks lve lost 2.5st and lm running feeling very motivated. However my worst time of day is between 5/6 when l get home from work and just crave something sweet. If I give in it spirals out of control very quickly and then lve blown my day. I thought l had read somewhere there was a mineral supplement that may help.

Hello Wantorun2013

First of all, very well done on losing 2 1/2 stone 😊. That’s fabulous

Food cravings at this time of day are most likely due to tiredness and low blood sugar. I find this happens to me if I haven’t had enough to eat earlier in the day. Try having a more substantial breakfast and lunch. You don’t say what eating plan you are following but I split my calories more or less into three equal meals.

For more information about meals and calories please see the Daily Diary

Best wishes

Anna

Hi @Wantorun2013 how about a 10 calorie jelly just to hit that spot for you without blowing everything? I think I read somewhere that chromium helps but please look it up I tried too but the internet is messing about and I cant get google to play ball right now.

Yeh l used to have a bowl made up in the fridge ready but haven’t done it for a while have just made a bowl tonight ! Great minds 😂. Have also found the article that l was looking for and why l originally posted as couldn’t remember what it was yes it’s chromium and cinnamon that’s supposed to help. Thank you for your reply x

Yes plan a healthy snack you can grab as soon as you get in the door. So you don't second guess yourself. Any other time a cup of Green tea is nice.
