Hi All, I’ve been trying to lose weight for ages, and I can manage a good day without a lot of stress, but after 4-5 pm I really struggle to make the right food choices and just give in, to start all over again next day. Any advice? Thanks!

Evening cravings
Hi and welcome, flacuchenta
Are you eating enough through the day, so that you're not hungry in the evening? Are you eating the right type of food, that leads to satiety and not insulin spikes, blood sugar drops and cravings?
It's very important to eat well and not think that the more you reduce your calories, the more weight you'll lose, this will explain in more detail healthunlocked.com/nhsweigh... and to eat the right foods well.blogs.nytimes.com/2013...

Hi, flacuchenta , Welcome.
As moreless says, eat enough at mealtimes (including satisfying fat) to prevent the desire to snack.
Set yourself a time in the evenings after which you do not eat. This can develop into a technique I call "Not Eating All Day".
Do you... can you exercise?
Have you heard about, thought about or tried the Low-Carbohydrate High-Fat diet? See the Low-Carbohydrate High-Fat forum here on Health Unlocked.
Thank you all! I’ll have a look at those links later this evening. Wish me luck!
Hi I do 16/8 so the "kitchen closed" sign goes up at 7pm! You could borrow it if you like ! Lol would you like to join our Summer Challenge? Here is the link so you can see what its all about !
I do sympathies with you. If you do feel hungry have some mixed nuts or look for some things that are less carbs or less calories to have. Some times having a drink no sugar of course my do the trick. Water melon my be good. What ever you mana all the best. 😊
I have found using a "defer for 10 mins" rule helps. If I'm eating out of a behavioural habit or to numb a feeling of being bored or lonely or fed up, or to feed a sugar craving rather than actually being hungry then deferring eating for 10mins allows me to process and understand if I'm making the choice to eat from the place of hunger or not. Good luck!
