My brother was visiting and we all had a day out together in London. On the train on Saturday, we each had a couple of little chocolate cakes from an Easter cake selection box, and on Sunday a little bit of chocolate cake (my Mum bought one and looked sad when I said I didn't want any) so I had a bit.
I found yesterday really really difficult as had a taste for it again. Interestingly, I could have left it on Sunday with no problem, but two days in a row had an effect. Has anyone else found that?
Managed to abstain yesterday which was hard, but I think today will be a lot easier now. Has been hard with two small children and a husband munching on Easter eggs all weekend......
Hope everyone else had a good Easter, tough weekend to be doing this, but motivated by posts on this group - thank you

I know what you mean. That's why treats have to be planned at a date and time for a reason or our naughty bodies start pushing for more.
Slippery slope to ruin. I think post diet, a day or time will have to be fixed for naughty treats.
We have friends who just will not eat things that are not for that day, my hubby will not eat chocolate, ever because he says once he starts he will not be able to stop. He won't eat biscuit's or cakes either, he lost the weight and its not coming back. I hope I am like him when all this is over ;(
It's hard going. Yesterday was so difficult, but I'm okay again today and don't feel the need. At least I know that if I have a treat one day, so long as I don't have one the following day is should be relatively easy. This is coming from a proper chocoholic too, I can't believe how much this plan is helping me with this problem.... long may it continue
Hi Son1, I had a little chocolate each day over Easter! And I have to admit I'm struggling today! I just want to keep snacking!!! It's been fruit but I know I've eaten too much of that 😞 I haven't been like this for weeks n weeks!
In less than two weeks its my birthday! And I know family and friends will buy me chocs even though I will ask them to buy me bath stuff instead! They don't take me seriously!
I wouldn't care if I never had a pie or anything savoury ever again! But chocs, cake yummm...........!!! 😉
Aww, I know how you feel. I now know that I should be able to get away with a treat on one day, but can expect full on cravings if I do two or more treat days in a row. Going to be strict, but sometimes it's really hard when everyone else is tucking in.
Well done on sticking to the fruit today, hopefully tomorrow will be easier. Good luck!
Easter is a challenging time, so well done for getting through it! I know you said you're hoping that today will be a lot easier, and I hope it has been.
Yes, today was easier than yesterday. It's still quite tough as the children are asking for a bit of Easter egg every few hours, but yesterday was a lot harder. I've started the couch to 5k today *phew*!
Yes thanks, I enjoyed the weekend. I did have an ice-cream at the cinema on Saturday night, so that felt quite indulgent and I really enjoyed it. But thankfully I didn't eat any Easter eggs at all. Hot cross buns (two of them) were my Easter treats, and I really enjoyed them. I did end up with some edible gifts (despite telling family I didn't want any edible things), and somehow I've managed to 'forget' where I've put them! So they are definitely out of sight and also out of mind now..! I'm relieved about that.
Glad you have had an easier day today, and it must be tough with your children still asking for a bit of Easter egg regularly. Glad you've started your Couch to 5k, that sounds great! Hope you enjoy it.
Don't beat yourself up ....times like these are sent to try us, but we can recover from them ! Yesterday I spent the day with an old friend not seen for years, started ok with a feta salad lunch but ended with the most unhealthy "supper "( !?) .... 3 glasses of wine, crisps, and half of a large thorntons chocolate rabbit !!
Tonight we are having supper with relatives and it's homemade lasagne and garlic bread....😕 BUT tomorrow I'll get back on track and should soon balance out again in a few days.
What I'm trying to say is this: life has lots of blips in it, you don't have to cave in, you can get back on track if you want to. I have kept within 0- 4 lbs of my target weight for a year now, even though some days have been far from healthy!!
Wow, that's an impressive supper! Haha, I did laugh I have to admit, I've done things like that before... starts off all good and quickly descends.
I hope you enjoy your dinner tonight too, sounds lovely.
That's really impressive that you have stayed so close to your target weight for a year, I think I could learn a thing or two from you. I'd like to lose a stone now to reach my target of 9 stone, but I almost feel like this is the easiest bit (even though it's difficult) because I am driven. I think maintaining will be very difficult as it is easy to become complacent, so I do have to look at this as a long-term lifestyle choice as opposed to a 'diet'.
Not knowing your bmi/age/height etc, not sure if your 9st target is realistic or not, but In my case ( 5ft 5in and age 63) my loss was 2st, from 11st 12 to 9st 12. Slowly, steadily ... took me a year altogether and have kept it off since last april.
All way through I never denied myself any food totally, just a little and less often, more veg and protein ( especially breakfast eggs filled me up) chicken, fish, and a couple glasses of wine at weekends. And I drove less walked more.
Worked for me but maybe not for everyone, Good luck to you!😊
Thanks for your message, sounds like I'm doing similar things to you.
I'm 41, my BMI is just under 25 and I'm 5'3". I should be between 7.5 and 10 stone. Just under 10 stone at the moment and would like to be 9 so that I'm more in the middle of my ideal weight range. I have IBD, so it would be sensible for me to be about 9 stone so that I have a stone either side before I'm over or underweight.
I'm doing some of the things you suggest and walk everywhere. Now started the couch to 5k *phew*
Your plan sounds ideal.... if I was nearer your age maybe ( only maybe) I'd have attempted running , but having had one torn meniscus and an arthroscopy I am just happy to be walking again pain free , and a 6-7 mile walk is quite do-able.
I so know what you mean. I binged on everything I shouldn't have even eaten one of over the Easter weekend. And, you know what? It made a nice change for once. I even got away with it at the scales. With the tiny loss of half a lb. So what's not to like? We do have to learn to cope with real life. It isn't going away just because we've decided to lose weight. Some days we can cope with temptation and some days we can't. I do think Easter is by far the worst: a 4 day holiday with those we love plus chocolate everywhere. Remember those supermarket adverts in the run up. We were being set up to fail by the whole country. I think we've done really well if we haven't put on half a stone.
I know how you mean. Craving are the biggest problem I have. I have found it best to stay completely clear of chocolate as once I have the taste its to late and ive eaten loads.
What I do instead is have an orange. I know not the same lol. but I make a big deal out of it. I avoid easy peelers as these are to easy to eat quickly. I make a big deal out of taking my time in peeling the orange and then taking an individual segment and removing all the piff, I personally don't mind the piff but it make the process take much longer. I find I can make an orange last over 10 mins this way making me feel like I had much more.
