I love soup, salad and other fibre filled goodies. Can anyone recommend a nice low fat low salt but naturally sweet cereal to help me start the day? I usually like toast & honey and a banana but cold milk on cereal is refreshing.

Soup salad and cereal.
Have you tried porridge made with water and low fat plain yogurt with fruit, or made with skimmed milk? Shredded wheat too! Pile it high with seasonal fresh fruit and pour over cold skimmed milk. Use a little artificial sweetener.
I love porridge but need a swirl of honey to add sweetness. I'm useless in the morning without my usual toast honey and tea 1 sugar! Thank you I'll give it a whirl.
Hey Nippydee, I make my own muesli with the following: rolled outs (1 1/3 cup), raisins (1 tbsp), chopped walnuts (1 tbsp), shredded coconut (1 tbsp), flaxseed (1 tbsp) and sesame seeds (1 tbsp).
I make a big batch of it and have it over the course of the week with some almond milk and low fat greek yogurt or some low fat cows milk. You can also add fruit. I generally either have frozen blueberries (they're low sugar), or 1/2 a small banana...It should be sweet enough with the raisins and the added fruit but you can always drizzle a little honey over the top.
When I have time over the weekend, I toast it under the grill a little and serve it warm.
I love the sound of your recipe! I'd leave out the walnuts. I also recommend ditching sugar for sweetener to nippydee we had to when my husband was diagnose with type two diabetes.
Thanks! The walnuts can always be substituted for other nuts if you like - almonds work well. Good combo of carbs, healthy fats and protein in there. I put it into myfitnesspal and one portion of the muesli alone is about 155 cals. Add the fruit & milk/yogurt and milk and it gets you to about 280.
Sounds lovely too Smallfeet. I'll try it. I like nuts, seeds and have a blueberry bush in my garden! Funny how I like all good food-just eat too much of it. Really need to lose a few pounds
