Yoyo dieted since I could hold food to my own mouth. Born a design fault with 2 hands but only one mouth, I've never found any food I didn't like. I don't have a full gauge. I get bored-I eat, upset tired or emotional-again I eat, something to celebrate-got to eat. I have no idea about portion control. I have crippling arthritis and conventional excersise is out as a result. I have 5 1/2 stone to lose for health & mobility reasons. All help grateful received. I joined at night in preparation for a positive new day ahead and a fresh start. I'm focussed but realistic. I expect nothing, so anything's a bonus 😁

More Rolls Than Greggs!
Good luck on your start. Expect the best to happen and give it your all.
Will do, thanks ☺
I am with mehall. expect good things and good things will happen to you. as far as portion control goes, the first thing I recommend is smaller plates. it makes portions easier to control and makes it look like you are eating a lot when you are not. I also recommend that you load your plate up with veggies and snack on fruit when you get the munchies. clean out your cabinets of the things you cannot control ( my is sugary candies) but never deny yourself a bite of something you are craving. a tiny piece of candy does not make me go off on a binger as long as I don't have anymore around and it makes me feel satisfied. chin up darlin! all will be well as long as you stick around here!
The small plate idea sounds like a good idea for day one. Will give that a go to start me off on day 1. Thanks ☺

Welcome! Love your attitude. Lots of people here with the same design fault. Luckily we have tips for keeping hands busy and brains preoccupied with banter and planning ideas etc, basically get chatting on here. All those habits can be broken just don't try to do everything all at once! It's about making small sustainable changes, one thing at a time. Start identifying danger times of day and distract yourself so you don't turn to snacking. Be brutal about what you do and don't keep in the house. Go out for long walks without your wallet so you can't buy unscheduled snacks. But don't forget to schedule some planned snacks, even the odd 'treat' - focus on what you can have not what you can't... Good luck for day one
Some great advice...snacking is just dinner time right up to bedtime these days so will try and focus on that & along with smaller plates in the first week it's sounding like a plan...thanks ☺
Good for you! Welcome to the forum.
Thanks...I had to start somewhere and start to take stock ☺
Hi yorkster , Love your title,! You sound like good fun. I agree with your comments, No stop full gauge had to eat all on plate when growing up. Shouted at to the point of misery around food.
I also have some arthritis so doing short walks each day. Would love to do long walks in country side and enjoy the scenery. Good luck with your weight loss.
Thanks, you too. Teamwork looks to be helping others so has to be worth a go ☺

Thank you. I've had a great start to the week just cutting down on the portion sizes and cutting down hugely on sugar. I'm still reading other people's stories & navigating the site...I've still got the recipes to look forward to ☺
