Sorry, can't help as I never smoked. Not trying to be smug, just grateful that I never started.
When I joined this forum, Cbf, I quit smoking on the same day. I had been smoking for the best part of 40 years, was morbidly obese and confined to my home.
I gave up the cigs and the junk food, cold turkey and started to exercise, all at the same time. I was 58 and I reckon that you could do it as well
There's a quit support group on here, that you could join, for support and advice.

Wishing you all the best
That is very impressive moreless I was going to bleat on that trying to change two big parts of your life at once could be too onerous... and there you go proving me wrong
I tried doing one, or the other, on numerous occasions, Tiggerr, but using one as a crutch for the other, isn't the way to go. It's actually easier to do both at the same time, because it's just one lot of withdrawal to push through.
You do need some willpower though
Hi Hidden I am vaping, have been off the cigs for just over a year now
Next thing for me is to reduce the vape, but currently not exercising much due to feeling unwell - which once I get the meds sorted (Under GP just been diagnosed with thyroid issue, started tablets this week) I hope to get back to exercising
I've quit smoking with vaping for a month now I used to smoke like almost 20 fags a day it's such a improvement as soon as I started vaping well done on a year of no smoking keep it up
Well done you - you have done a month it gets easier as time goes by
I quit smoking 12 years ago when I reached 65 and admitted I had been heavily addicted for 50 years. You CAN do it whatever method you decide is best for you. I don't know how old you are but quit now. I was too late and have COPD as a result. Not good, believe me😢
Have you accessed any of the NHS smoking cessation resources? Ask at your GP surgery and they may be able to help you.
Good luck x
I've already quit it has been a month I was just wondering if anyone else have
Yes, I quit smoking after 25 years and vape instead. I find it just as satisfying. Been four years now. Good luck to you.
I smoked for just over 12 years and when i got serious about losing weight i saw that smoking was hindering me from completing my 1 hr work out so i cut down drastically (to half the amount i would smoke) and saw a vast improvement, i took on the insanity dvd and tbh, knowing what I was giing to go through put me off smoking 2 hours before a workout and took an hour to catch my breath afterwards! About 4 weeks in i couldnt see the point in smoking any more so i gave up completely. That was4 years ago ! Please, try and distract yourself by doing something else like hours before you plan to work out, even if it is that you do want to vape i found it really helps!
P.s. i lost 4 stones by quitting!
