Hi Aperkins, that great you have your son wedding as a motivation fact. For me my motivation to lose weight to avoid diabetes and improve my mental health. I think getting in the right mind set, definitely helps. Good luck with your weight lose journey.

That was me aperkins1 two years ago. I lost the weight, my son had a great wedding and they now have a baby 😊.

I am a slimmer and fitter Granny. If I can do it so can you 😊

Good luck

Anna

Calorie counted plan, strict portion control, 😊 but very slow, pound a week at the most. Still not at target but not regained any either

Just stick with it!

Hi Aperkins1, I too have a throid condition, not sure how long you have had it, but take a look at the tyroid uk forum on here for help with getting optimum levels of treatment, it can make a big difference in helping loose weight, and it really helped me understand how my diet was affecting my thyroid too. Good luck weight loss is possible with thyroid condition it may take a little longer for your body to adjust. I have found small snacks throughout the day (healthy ones) keep my metabolism moving. I still have a long way to go as put on 4 stone after fighting to get right treatment right now I have lost nearly 1.5 stone since May. Only 2.5 to go.

Hi welcome and good luck with the weight loss- a lot of people on here who joined for medical reason have found that as they lost weight they were able to stop taking medication for high blood pressure and those who were on their way to becoming diabetics were no longer at risk of becoming a diabetic or even had their medication reduced, so there areso many positives in loosing weight

I have an underactive thyroid so know what a challenge it can be. Good wholesome healthy food though helps....just make sure you don't have too many raw/undercooked brassicas (kale, broccoli, cauliflower) as they are goitrogenic (i.e they interfere with your thyroxine) Its Ok to have them but not too much. that advice has helped me....good luck!

First of all gorgeous picture!!! Make sure you are on a healthy eating plan and a fitness program such as walking. You want to make this a lifestyle. When you work it off. You will feel proud of yourself of the great accomplishment. You alone did and the hard work put into it. Best wishes your journey and please keep us posted.
