Hi, just joined. I’m 52 and have had OHS from the age of 12. I’m finding it difficult to lose weight for a variety of reasons. One reason is it’s hard to follow a diet plan because the majority of them I’ve seen, require eating fruit. I’ve had allergy testing and was told never to eat a banana again. I can eat cooked fruit, fresh grapefruit, lemon and lime. I can eat most raw vegetables. I can’t have raw broccoli, cauliflower and carrots. Any suggestions?

Eat high protein, low carbs. Lots of veggies, nuts, eggs, the fruit that you can eat and drink lots of water. Make sure you get enough calories or you won't lose weight. I made that mistake. Good luck to you!!

Thanks for the advice. I will start tomorrow and do my best. I already drink lots of water, so that’s a plus.

Hi and welcome, Jessica :)

It's certainly not essential to eat fruit, because any micronutrients in them can be found in vegetables, without the fructose. There is a huge variety of vegetables to eat, so not being able to eat a couple of them, isn't going to hurt at all :)
