End of day 1 and I've spent more time looking up calorie values than cooking or eating. This may be a good thing!

Hello and welcome BridgeGirl 😊
You will soon get used to calories. I write down things I eat regularly 😊
Good luck!
Got my notebook underway. I'm sure it'll all come together
I so know that feeling, I think I spent a whole day going through my cupboards and freezer looking at the calorie info on them and putting them into a spreadsheet - but boy it was a great use of time as has saved loads now as I can grab and cook and then use the spreadsheet to calculate as long as I have weighed everything
Ooo by the way hi and welcome to the best supportive forum there is for weight loss
Thanks for the welcome. I hadn't thought of a spreadsheet. I think it'll be a notebook for me and I'm sure it'll all get easier
It takes a wee bit of work and effort to start but then gets a lot easier
Wishing you all the best on your journey
Several people like to use a spreadsheet. But if like me you want the calorie search, calculations and logging done for you, then try the "myfitnespal " app.
Just type your food item into the daily diary and the mega- huge database finds the exact food item (or very similar item) and at the press of a key it adds to your diary with a running daily total .
I still use MFP even in 3 yrs of maintenance cuz it keeps me on the ball with hardly any effort.
Snap! I just started today too. Good luck!
Wishing you all the bet on your journey
I started last Monday keeping a food diary keeps you focussed and I was pleased to have lost 2lbs after maintaining for a long time !
Yes I'll be keeping a food diary, now all the Christmas food and wine is out of the way it will be easier to stay focussed
