I'm recovered from drink / drug addiction for 18 month. However I eat and eat and do so when I don't want to. I've done all the therapy on earth and think I just need to find away to find the power within.
I'm 20 stone so have 5 to lose however I have a slipped disk so really struggling at present.

Well done for beating your drug and alcohol addiction, I'm sure you'll be just as effective with your food addiction
I'd like to invite you to join our Newbie Club, which we hope will be a good place for you to connect with members, who are also just starting out. If you just post a few words to introduce yourself and respond to others there, you'll soon break the ice. Here's the link
Hi MrJoshua from a fellow recoverer. I know that is not a real word but I have been alcohol free this time for 3 months and do not miss it much. I know how it is to deal with alcohol and drug addiction-been a drug addict and alcoholic for years. once I quit doing these things I took up eating. I feel like eating to excess is like an addiction for me. I just exchanged one for the other. but I feel like eating to excess is just as dangerous and will cause me to die sooner and in more misery than I actually deserve. I am at 262 pounds, need to lose about 112 pounds. I like to post here and it keeps me responsible for my own actions. but you know it is difficult to forgive yourself for anything so practice on that. I recommend at least one small change a week or two and before you know it, you will have lost some weight. I started with adding more veggies and subtracting the butter on them. it has worked well as I have lost 6 pounds already. this is a terrific forum to post to and it helps a bunch. the people here are non-judgemental and have been where we are and will do things to help us. Chin up! if we can beat alcohol and drug addiction we can do this too!
