Hi I'm 1 week post op of a Nissen Fundoplicatin which treats severe acid reflux.. Having this op is what Nick started my diet. Prior to the op I had to go on a liver reducing diet. It was hard. Now I am going through the slow process of getting used to food and I'm on a very sloppy diet. You would think I would loose lots of weight but I havnt. I need to rest and long to get back back to my usual counting calaries diet and plenty of excersise. I will soon be my old self again but today I'm fed up.
Well done to everyone who is keeping going. I hope once I'm better to maintain for a while. I will ask for advice nearer the time.
Have a good day.

I had to Google your procedure, Anneke, as I'd never heard of it before. I do sympathise, as I used to suffer from acid reflux myself, although not due a medical problem, just a dietary one. I found that reducing carbs, was enough to cure my problem. I was one of the lucky ones.
I hope that you'll be feeling a bit brighter soon and able to tighten up the reins. You're obviously good at weight loss, having already lost 4 stone!!
Morning Anneke. Glad to hear you're recovering from your op. I guess that at least every day that passes leaves you closer to getting back to 'normal' eating.
You've done so well to lose the weight you have and I can see from the determination in your post that you're going to get through this and then do what's best for you.
Hey Anneke, I know it's 12 months post operation but how has your recovery gone this past year? I had my Nissen Fundoplication almost 18 months ago now. I've been relatively good in terms of health but this last week I;ve started to burp air and my food eating is so much better to but there are occasions when food is slow to go down but goes down does that make sense. Good luck in your recovery. X
