I wish !!!! , I just wish I could keep it going ,,, I just let life take over . I have to make myself stop and do the jobs that help me lose weight and give me more time .... I think I am disorganized for most of the time and organised for a bit of the time !!! ha ha ha

This is my first week as well. Reading your post it sounds like my life! Always something to do as an excuse for looking after yourself. I also have to loose for my health. I also looked in a mirror when I was out the other day and didn't recognise myself. Day 4 and it's going well so far. Long may that continue. Good luck.

hey stopfaffing, welcome. lol all you want, but sleep is very important. i know i sleep all the time. not really. but it is good to get at least 7 to 8 hours a night to feel refreshed and ready to hit the day. it sounds like you are very organized and that is an excellent start. i suggest you also write everything down you eat especially to start with and keep count of calories. i was not very good at making sure i ate the right number of calories, but i was shocked at the amount of calories i was eating so i cut out some empty calories i did not need and started losing weight. i feels wonderful. i am sure both of ya'll can succeed if you just remember it is a lifestyle change and not a diet.

Hi katy6860 thank you for the support ! I feel really great at the mo , however I am very aware of my weaknesses ... last night eldest child asked if I could wait before going to bed , so that the washer would finish and I could transfer her "today" clothes to the tumble dryer...... as a result I was tired and ate 3 packets of quavers which I did not need or have the calories left for,./..... so it goes to help prove my own little theory that I eat when I am tired to keep myself awake!!!!

i do it too! especially if i am on a road trip i am the worst! by the way, what are quavers? just curious, i am from Texas and some things are new to me ya'll talk about.

Hi Bonmckenna,

Welcome to the Weight Loss NHS forum. I hope you'll enjoy being part of this community. Do have a look at our Pinned posts area (top right-hand-side of the homepage) and especially the Welcome Newbie post.

Also, the Monday group weigh-in sessions are today, so if you're interested and would like to participate, then please join us:

Have a great week. I'd recommend the NHS 12 week plan as a great way to lose weight, and you can find a link to that in the Welcome Newbie post.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

Lowcal :-)

hi bonmckenna and welcome! i have been here about a month and i have lost about 13 pounds. i feel better already. i am losing weight for health reasons too. i am too old 49, to care much about how i look... ok that is just not true. i do care. but i want to be healthy much more than i want to look good. i want my knees to stop hurting and my ankles to be stronger. everyone here is so nice and so helpful if you just listen to them. most of the people here have been where we are and are full of good advice and helpful hints. just ask! and again welcome!
