I am completely new to this but hoping it will give me the kick I need to start my weight loss journey. I was meant to start my 'Protein World' diet on Monday, but I returned to work after 6 months of being off & was not very organised, now I just keep pushing it back.
I am currently looking at joining a gym but I am so nervous about going on my own, it kind of sends me into an anxiety attack thinking about going to the gym on my own, and I don't have the biggest group of friends so it will have to be something I do on my own, any tips or advice on how to boost my confidence to not only join the gym but to also go on my own?
I am thinking of starting my 'Protein World' diet on Monday but also combining it with the NHS weight loss plan...what are others thoughts on this?
Thank you for taking the time to read & sorry for the rambling post :/

I am afraid I have never heard of the Protein World diet. I am going to assume this is a group that you have to pay for. We are here 7 days a week, 24 hours a day and are totally free and very supportive Why not take a look at the NHS 12 week plan, you will find the link in the Newbie pack I am about to give you
There is no need to join a gym if you don't really want to, going out for a 30 minute walk a day or using exercises on youtube are just as good and can be done in the comfort of your own home.
Exercise is important, but for weight loss, what you eat is far more important.

I agree with lucigret that you dont really need to join a gym if it causes you that much anxiety! Theres the C25K app Couch to 5k that you can do on your own, its a running app but it takes it slowly and you can do it in your own time by repeating weeks etc or apps like seven that are short 7 min hiit workouts !
Alternatively if you did want to go to the gym, see if theres a programme in your area as near me, theres a 12 week free programme called your move and that was designed for people to meet up and make friends to train with or theres ?25k groups that you can join up with
I had a quick look at the Protein World website, and it looks to me like there's an awful lot of stuff on there that you really don't need to buy.
The diet plan that Lucigret has linked to is really easy to follow, doesn't leave you feeling hungry, and if you track what you eat properly (which is key), works a treat. There's no need to by supplements, shakes, carb blockers, etc listed on the Protein World website.
There's a link in a tread somewhere that takes you to phcuk.org (Public Health Collaboration) that's got great advice on weight loss. Well worth a read if somebody could put the link on this thread (apologies, I'm rubbish with technology).
I should have taken a look at the Protein World diet, thank you for listing what it has John MissEJG having a diet that is based on supplements and shakes really is not the way to go. What ever you do it needs to be sustainable and a healthy way of eating for life. The Protein World diet definitely isn't that.
