Hi, I'm a 35 year old mom. Fed up with being overweight and unhealthy. Currently 215 pounds, In the past 10 years I have weighed anywhere from 125 to 275. At this point I am afraid I have done too much metabolic damage to my body through yo yo dieting and binging to successfully lose weight for good. But I've got to keep trying for my kiddo! Anyone have any suggestions?

Last Ditch Effort?
Welcome NolansMom my first though is you need to stop dieting - you have proved that it doesn't work. Try to think about changing your lifestyle whether it be cutting out processed foods, anything that says it is diet food or low fat, eating good healthy fats and starting to exercise a little. Walking is a great way to start. At the start of the year I was very, very ill and started walking 10 minutes a day at a very slow pace, I can now walk as far as I wish at a decent pace. I have recently started jogging - very gently and following the Couch to 5 Kilometre programme.
My point really is that anything is possible. I also had damaged my metabolism because of my illness but I started reading and following research and it is very enlightening.

Hello and welcome NolansMom 😊
I agree with Ceals, it’s never to late to make a difference. I have a long history of yoyo dieting as well as chronic arthritis and under active thyroid, but I’ve successfully lost weight and maintained that loss, changing my overeat health and fitness in the process.
