Hiya. I think you need to count your calories and stick to that. Drink flavoured water and avoid snacking. Easy said than done. Also eat every 2.5 hours. Little but frequent. This helps to when it comes to eating you eat less.

Morning and welcome Mrsleckey

I hope you'll pop in to the Wednesday weigh in thread and join our friendly weigh-in day.

No need to feel hungry, eat well (not junk) and you'll soon see the scales going down. I'm starting my day with two poached eggs, amazing food that'll keep me nourished until lunch time.

I hope you have a great day x

Welcome Mrsleckey if you chose your food carefully you shouldn't be hungry. Remember to eat some good healthy fats that will keep you fuller for longer, they are not the demon the diet industry paints them to be.

Come and join our Newbie Club, which is a good place for you to connect with members, who are also just starting out, or re-starting. Just post a few words on the September Newbie Club thread to introduce yourself and respond to others there you will soon feel part of the club.

Hi Mrsleckey check the BMI calculator to ensure you are eating the right amount of calories for your height and weight. Not eating enough sends signals to the body it is starving and hangs on to the fat we want to be losing. Also ensure you are eating at regular intervals. I set my alarm to eat every four hours (except when sleeping - the digestive system needs to rest too), if I go outside the four hours I am in danger of going into binge mode when I do eat. Good luck with your new healthy eating lifestyle.

I know what you mean, Mrsleckey , I found breakfast difficult as I was always really hungry long before lunch time. I lurked in the Daily Diary for awhile and decided that my approach to breakfast needed a rethink. I now eat a few more calories at breakfast, but have included yogurt with my granola and fruit to help me feel full and for longer.

I would definitely recommend the Daily Diary, even just to get ideas, to help you with not feeling hungry.

Welcome and good luck! :)

I also find breakfast difficult VickyDLM and it is definitely the most important meal of the day - its sets you up for what it to come. I think if I can get breakfast right it will be half the battle. My Dad always said to breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince and dine like a pauper. I am thinking about using this logic when I start to calorie count. After all as the day goes on we should need less calories.
