So hungry
If you can, grab some veg, if at work aim for a snack pot of veg? ( by that I meant carrot sticks or whatever) Would be interesting to know how much of your budget calorie wise you have used so far?
I tend to favour carbs and protein for breakfast personally, eggs fab
Hi, was the yoghurt low fat? if so it is probably high in refined sugar. Granola is also quite high in sugar, so it maybe that you are getting a kick from the sugar that diminishes quickly. Maybe opt for brown bread and a boiled egg that will sustain you for longer. Grapes also are high in sugar but better for you than a chocolate snack so well done.
I agree with Vanessa on the sugar front. Granola can be a real trap and appears healthy when really it isn't.
I myself had 60g of Kellogg's granola with 130ml of almond milk this morning - but feel fine for now, but in know if had the recommend portion of 45g i would be starving by now.
Maybe try to add some banana to your breakfast, rather than grapes. 😊
Good luck!
Maybe that's why as I had the 45g recommendation and alpro yoghurt all in all this morning I've consumed 407 cal
That seems a lot of calories! My granola was 241 calories plus 40 calories for the almond milk. Keeping me under 300 and I did track some strawberries which I am yet to have.
If you are a granola fan, I'd suggest you shop around. Try to go for high fibre low sugar. I did see some Kellogg's ones which are specifically marketed as high fibre. I currently have the chocolate one though. 😉
Try and get in around 5g of fibre for breakfast - preferably more - that should keep you going to lunchtime. 😊
Hi csharman81. Is the yoghurt a high protein one? The Total 0% fat one has about twice the protein of other yoghurts and keeps me fuller for longer. Try drinking water too as that can fill you up a bit. Hope you can last out till lunchtime
Have you had much to drink today? Try having a big glass of water? Unfortunately we sometimes just have hunger days... Maybe allow yourself a few extra calories and use them on bulky foods (porridge, carrots, lettuce).
I'm hoping it's because it's my first day and I'm not constantly grazing on food which I normally do and would have been high sugar content I drink plenty of water
Ah, I hadn't realised it was your first day. It will be your body wondering what's going on
I'd look for some low calorie crackers, or maybe some sweet popcorn to graze on? Carrot sticks and cucumber make good low cal nibbles too. Can you have a bit of fruit with breakfast to make it more filling tomorrow? A kiwi has around 45 calories, and a big wedge of melon (1/6th) has 55 calories. I have those with breakfast.
Dairy makes me very boated, so I try to avoid it as much as I can I'm not a fan of soya milk but I like the yoghurt. I don't normally have breakfast so werent to sure what to eat.
I was really surprised when I saw how much sugar was in granola as I'd always thought it was healthy. I'm not saying it isn't, but it does have a load of sugar - which is why it tastes so nice and you get that sugar spike and lull.
I have porridge every morning, 40g oats with 150ml semi skimmed milk and 150ml water - maybe raisins (15g) and a sprinkling of cinnamon (put in before you cook). It's really good, about 300 cals and keeps you going. I sometimes put a little dollop on nutella on it instead of the cinnamon and raisins - again weighed.
Ah I will try that thought the granola would be a little healthier and full of seeds etc will try a different breakfast tomorrow 😃
Hi 😀 learn to love porridge, it's been my breakfast every morning since I started! And ive lost a stone in 7wks. 😀
It's really good for you and should fill you up till lunch. You can jazz it up so many ways. One of my favourite is a fresh raw apple chopped up with some cinnamin on top of plain porrige or tsp of mixed seeds and dried coconut and a tsp of raisins. You don't need to add sugar as sweet enough win, win!
I also buy the plain porridge in sachets (oats so simple or other alts available) which is only 180 calories including the semi skimmed milk.
I don't snack at all till lunch as don't feel the need.
Hope this helps.

I agree with the egg advice - I boiled up five at the weekend and took them into work where I'm lucky we have a fridge, microwave, toaster and china, cutlery. I have mine with a toasted slice of rye bread and I find that quite filling. Tip - microwaving a soft boiled egg should not be undertaken lightly and certainly not for 30 seconds!
