Can't sleep, can't sleeeeeep! At times I struggle sleeping, just do not feel tired whatsoever. This causes a problem with my dieting as I know that sleep is important to help weight loss and also I start to snack. Don't feel hungry, just feel I need that comfort from your favourite naughty foods.
Any suggestions on being able to drift off to sleep or to quit the snacking would be great.

Reading could make you sleepy or listen to music. Even a little spurt of exercise could wear you out. I have the same problem.. I get up and watch TV and try again in a bit. Good luck.
Hi water_baby, Have you tried having a warm bath before bed, a hot drink will help fill you up (not hot chocolate 🙈)....listen to a boring book (talking books) or a meditation track. Read a book.... Just ask yourself do you really want to eat the extra calories, which whilst might taste nice at the time will make you feel crap afterwards. You can do this. Even if you do one thing differently, you are on the road to breaking the habits you have created. Small changes will keep you motivated. Good luck. ☺
You have been given some ideas already
Reading, hot bath, stop drinking caffeine drinks prior to bed
Question is are you worrying about things, is your mind working over time? If so try some relaxation techniques - you can find some on the internet, but here's one I do -
Lie in bed and get the mind to a place you feel happy and safe and take stock of all around you - i.e. mine was lying by a swimming pool while on holiday and looking at the blue sky
I have found since passing 60 that I have sleepless nights on a regular basis; I often wake at around 4.00am. Best thing is get up, have a cup of tea, chat on this forum for a while and go back to bed an hour later, and sleep seems easier then. It is so tempting to snack...limit it to a rice cake or a yogurt if you can. Beware of online shopping - that too is a great temptation at 4.00am!!
