Calorie counting: Hi have you a quick... - Weight Loss Support
Calorie counting
Many people on here use Myfitnesspal or nutracheck.co.uk
hope that helps
I have done a spreadsheet of the most common foods that I eat and it took a while to set up but it was worth it - I went through all the foods in my cupboards and freezer and put the calorie amount for per certain weight or piece in and it's so easy now - think I spent a good day on it though
Good work 👍🏻 I like logging in MFP because it gives important macros e.g. 60% carbs 25% protein 15% fats.
Smithb - try MyFitnessPal is good for logging calories and you can scan 95% of barcodes and it goes straight in the app.
I've just downloaded MyFitnessPal but calories they put a day is 1200 kcal but on nhs it's 1578 kcal a day not sure which to follow????
The NHS BMI calculator includes your exercise level and as far as I am aware- from reading other posts about this issue- myfitnesspal doesn't include so I think it expects you to work out how many calories you have burnt off through exercise and add that to your daily allowance
