Hi I'm sam I'm wanting to loose about 4 stone over the next 8 months or so, and also build my fitness levels up, taken up a new hobby and it's made me realise how unfit I am, as can't keep up with others and panting out of my ass. Aiming to loose about 1.5lb per week and been told to stick around 1400 calories although NHS BMI says around 2100 so not sure what one to follow. I would say loosing weight is a big goal for me for my biggest aim is to become fitter and be able to walk hill and glen without feeling like I'm going to collapse.
Hi everyone newbie here and any advice... - Weight Loss Support
Hi everyone newbie here and any advice greatly appreciated.
Hi Hidden Did you mean to post this in the Newbie Club?
1400 calories is far too low for you
You have done the NHS BMI calculator and I would suggest you start eating at the higher range for the first two weeks and see how you get on
Wishing you all the best on your journey
Onwards and downwards
Yes I did as I have only signed up today and downloaded the app. Thanks for the advice cracker10
I ate at the lower end of the BMI calculator range to start with and didn't lose weight - imagine my shock when I ate at the higher end and actually lost 3lb in one week - it does work
I also used the NHS 12 week plan and that helped me make sure I was eating a healthy balanced diet
I tend to have homemade vegetable soup for lunch on work days as it ups my 5 a day
Is the NHS 12 week plan a set of menus / recipe ideas
You can find it where you found the BMI Calculator, it has a planner for you and some great ideas
Meal guides, portion guides etc and lots more helpful info
I must admit I initially focused on weight loss it was only when I got near my target weight that I decided to look at amount of protein, carbs & fat I was eating. I like to keep things simple!!
