I have finally finally gone 17 days choc and crisp free! The turning point was def when the hubby decided he needed to lose weight and finally stopped stocking the cupboards. The best thing is that at the moment I dont crave it either but i am hoping this continues. If I'm honest I am concerned that if he breaks and it enters the house i will cave in as I still open the cupboard many times a day just to close it again.still, i am pleases so far as i have lost some weight and trying to curb the snacking is my main aim at the moment.

Brilliant news - you are so on your way to never bothering with the stuff again. I have completely lost any sweet tooth I ever had and it is great. I can actually now have a maltese or a piece of chocolate and not finish the rest off - go you, belie in yourself, you have got this cracked.

I'm sure it must be a big help for your husband to be on board, I hope that if he caves, he doesn't bring anything home.

I share my home with a cat and a hamster so I have complete control of the cupboard contents, my son isn't so happy though, I don't think I have anything in that he would eat!

Good luck

Great job!

Good way to start rcut :) I'm guessing your overall food for meals is not too bad but maybe needs a few tweaks (like portion size and maybe amount of carbs, but the snacking is the main issue. That's pretty much how I see myself. Doing this together probably helps a lot too. Does hubby help plan meals or help with the shopping list? It might help him stay on track also if he is contributing.

Well done :D

Food for meals is surprisingly healthy due to having two young children, i massively over snack on crisps , choc and sandwiches. We all have some say in the meals for the week and i write the shoppping list from that. Evenings arw still tough as thata when i felt i could eat as children in bed and would quite often eat a family sharing bag of crisps on an almost nightly basis.

I hear you there. Mine are now 26 and 27 and evenings are still my worst time for snacking. I should have got control of it years ago.

Well done! What an amazing achievement...don't worry about, just take each day as it comes.☺

Well done for sticking to it so far. I used to do the same with biscuits, while reading a book in the evenings after my husband had gone to bed and was not there to comment. I am just on Week 12 (84 days) and I have not done that since starting. If I get hungry before bed, I try to think carefully what I will eat, as I usually have some calorie allowance left over (say a banana - 100 cals) or some yoghurt. Researchers seem to say 66 days to establish a habit, although that depends on the person, the habit, etc, etc. Try to think what healthier snack you can replace the crisps with, then you will have a sensible option to snack on.

84 days is a fantastic achievement ! Ihope i can match that and break the habit for good. I do still need tp warch my calories otherwise I do find myself drifing off course and 'ruining' the day. Then i remember little steps are important and that i still havent gone for the crisps, perhaps next week i will try to add healthy snacks instead of avoiding them altogether
