had appointment with nurse to take stitches out today and am really sulking !
her advice is NOT to start my new plan today as its too soon after my surgery .i showed her my menu and plan and it would hinder my recovery and do more harm than good for a few more weeks..she said that i could work on portion control and cut out any snacking but based on my diet now compared to the changes i put on plan she advised me to wait . bless her , she felt bad saying it as i was all motivated and raring to go but once explained , i can see and understand what she was saying to me .so we revised my eating plan and I've to go back and see her on 5 September , which in the grand scheme of things isn't that long and will come round quick enough plus it gives me more research, help , recipes and advice from this site .

Your nurse is right melody57 😊 Eating for optimal healing is what's important right now 😊 But please stick around, read the posts and recipes etc and then you'll be well prepared for a fresh start in September 😊
I started eating healthily four days after a major operation. To be honest I didn't ask anyone's advice. Not that I am suggesting you ignore the advice from the medics.
You can still come on here and take part and good plan to do lots of research.
Good to hear you're listening to the nurse. It sounds as if she is really supportive and that's a big plus. You'll be able to use the interval to come to terms with portion control etc and when you do get the go ahead you will be so well prepared. And who knows you may even lose a little before then. Good luck.🌺
