At my wits end this is my last hope tried every diet on the planet and am now trying to up my exercise in the hope that it will make me feel better about myself and help me to lose weight. I have zero will power and hate myself for it the moment anything goes wrong in my life happy sad depressed I eat. I can't even look at myself anymore as I'm so disgusted with the way I look you would think that would make me do something about it but unfortunately not. Any advice will be much appreciated.

Hi and welcome Gems3
You have made the first biggest step by coming here and posting, well done!
You will receive lots of friendly support and advice here and are never on your own, as we are all going through the same journey.
I am sorry because of the way you are feeling and totally understand this, as i felt like this about myself before i joined this forum, i felt disgusting and couldn't even look at myself in a mirror before i lost weight. I still have weight to lose, but i feel a bit more confident with my body now and i can look in the mirror. It's taken me a while to lose the weight but it is better to lose it slowly than too quickly.
One of the Administrators will reply to you in the morning now, with lots of useful advice and tips to help you.
You can do this and i wish you all the best with your weight loss journey
Mindset is important. You may have not lost weight in the past or put weight back on but you need to forget this and believe in yourself. Only you can control the amount you eat, you have the power!! Start believing in yourself, take each day at a time, plan your meals and keep busy. It's hard but it's doable and gets easier after a few days. Get your brain ready!!
I totally agree with one day at a time. I'm stumbling badly myself at the moment, but each day is a new day and I try to forget about the day before. You can't change what has been but you can make changes to now and what is to come.
If we keep telling ourselves that it should eventually sink in and become our normal everyday habit
Hello Gems3 and welcome to the Weight Loss Forum
Well done on taking that first step to a new you. Have a good read of all the information I've provided and please ask if you have any questions
Here are a few suggestions on how to get the most out of the forum. Please note if you are using the new HU App many of these features are not available so I suggest you use the full website version.
The first place to look is at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), read the Welcome Newbie thread first and move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you. Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news
Have a look at the NHS 12 week plan, as many people have had success with it. Also use the BMI checker to find your target calories, it's important to eat enough. This was a major turning point for me, realising I could eat anything I wanted as long as the calories are accounted for. Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate
The forum also have group weigh-ins every day, as well as a new Daily Diary, if you wish to take part. The posts can always be found in the Events section on the 'home' page. And if you just want to chat, to say hello or share any news or struggles then look out for What's Happening Today thread.
You'll notice a grey box next to people's names, these are achievement badges, and as a new member you have a 'Newbie' badge. We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too. If you have any questions please just ask
Best wishes
Anna
you have come to the right place... you will always find lots of support on here for you xx
Welcome Gems3 to this awesome forum. You will get to learn so much from the posts by members and pick a tip here and there to incorporate into your lifestyle. keep logging in and reading the various posts from the members and you will get the motivation you need to move forward. As you say, you have done all diets, well the sad fact is that most diets are not sustainable in the long-term and are mainly restrictive such that once you stop following the diet all the weight lost plus additional creep back, placing us in more frustrating situations.
As advised above, your mindset determines how far you can go in this journey. Accept your situation as at now and start to eat healthy, nourishing and satiating foods at every meal, one meal at a time, one day at a time to avoid getting overwhelmed. Once you have adjusted well, determine your daily calorie range and start counting your calories and whenever possible, plan your meals and prep them in advance to ensure that you always got something healthy to fall back on. Calorie counting is important because if you tend to eat less calories your body adapts to starvation mode and holds on to everything you eat thus more weight gain. You will lose weight if you eat sufficient daily calories.
I wish you the very best in your journey!
Hi Gems3 i fully agree with everything matets has said above especially about eating with other diets when stopping them and also about the calorie counting because I used to have this problem myself and never lost weight with any other diet and joined here, was given this information and managed to lose 2 1/2st so far. Hope this all works for you as well, good luck with your journey.
