Hii. After about a dozen failed attempts to restart slimming world, I thought I'd give calorie counting a blast! Struggled with my weight since forever ✌🏻.
I lost 7 and a half stone two years ago, but after having my baby, I've pretty much put it all back on! Slimming world just isn't working for me at the moment. And I need to do something.
I'm a chronic procrastinator! So just going to quietly do this by myself 😊
I hope the next time I look at this post I can be proud that I got myself together!
Doing this for my health and myself!! I want to wear nice clothes and feel good about my body!!
Tired of feeling fat and tired!!!!

Take a look at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), or in the drop down on the 'Posts' page (it says 'arrange by'). Read the Welcome Newbie thread, then move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you.
Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news.
Take a look at the NHS 12 week plan, as a lot of people have been successful with it, making sure to enter your details into the NHS BMI calculator, to get a calorie allowance tailored to your personal requirements. Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate.
To the right of the HOME page (bottom on a mobile), you'll find Events. In there, you'll find links to our daily Weigh-in's (you will choose just one day per week), our Daily Diary, where we post our menu and exercise plans, for accountability, advice and support and our “What's happening today” thread, where we pop in for a chat.
Be aware, that the HU app doesn't give you access to all of our important features, so we advise that you use the full website page.
We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too.
You have already lost the huge amount of 7 1/2 stone, so you've clearly got a lot of determination. 💪 As you've lost weight before, you can do it again!
I have tried slimming clubs too, but this forum is much more relaxed, with no public weigh in, which is a winner with me. 😊
You'll get lots of advice and support on here, without being asked what you are going to lose for next week! Lol
I wish you the best of luck with your weight loss. 😊
Welcome to the group!! Can't wait to see the after. Good luck to you.
Minniewinny has already provided you with plenty of useful information, a great blueprint for weight loss and healthy living.
You describe yourself as a procrastinator yet you previously managed to lose over 7 stone. You can't have procrastinated then, in order to achieve such a great weight loss.
Getting involved here is generally perceived as giving people a better chance of succeeding in the long run, even if you just regularly read people's posts.
Good luck!
hi and welcome
WOW you lost 7 1/2 stone previously, so proves you have the determination Have a good look around - Calorie counting took me a while to get into when I started, but to help I took the time to make up a spread sheet with the contents of my freezer and regular foods I use
The spreadsheet really has helped and was time well spent - I have put a post on regarding the spreadsheet (you can find this in the 'Hints and Tips' section )
Welcome to THE best place to be for support. Everyone is so lovely and so supportive and we are all here with the same aim in mind.
Come on here regularly and be inspired by other people.
I have absolutely and completely lost my sweet tooth by changing my diet. Will happily go out for a meal and decline dessert, I just have no interest anymore.
You need to decide what you are willing/able to change to ensure a healthy lifestyle, I would forget dieting it just isn't sustainable.
Morning MrsHelsby I too have lost weight with SlimmingWorld & put to nearly all back on again. The last time I tried I just didn't get on with the leader.
So I found this site last year . I lost a bit but then got complacent and stopped visiting the site & guess what put back on the weight back on . I have had work done on the house & couldn't use the kitchen for a couple of weeks & used that as an excuse to eat rubbish.
So after coming back from 10 days all inclusive holiday I joined this forum on 19 June 2017 & so far I have lost just under a stone.
Good luck & as they like to say on this forum Onwards & downwards 😀
I have found the NHS 12 week weight loss plan very good though poeple on the forum are using a wide range of diets such as low carbs, 5:2 and some I can't spell! I find the thought of being on a diet as a negative thought and to me its represents restrictive eating- and I love my food! I find I can accept counting calories since my diet hasn't changed that much, but eating less crisps (my downfall) and alcohol since its only if I have enough spare calories that I will have treat. I have found that I balance my meals so I often ate 2 high calorie meals in a day or 2 low calories so I was either eating too much or not enough, but now I am eating more consistently but still can have the occasional treat.
