I am fed up of being the fat one, I am fed up of cringing at photos of myself, I am fed up comfort eating, I am fed up of making jokes about my weight to others - I think you get the message I am fed up!
Only I can do something about my situation. I am facing up to reality & i am starting my journey today , not a Monday as I have always done !
I have measured myself, I have worked out my BMI which is 40 and taken the 'before' photo which I am sure I will share with you all one day.
I am not going on a 'diet' , you name them I have done them, achieved my weight loss goal but then put it all back on plus more . I don't feel that I can knock the well know diet clubs because although they are not for me it does not mean they won't work for others.
So how will you do it I hear you say . Plain and simple I will educate myself on healthier eating, I will address my mindset & look at ways of a more positive life style.
It will not be easy, it will be slow , my years of unhealthy eating habits will not change over night & there will be lows BUT I also know that there will also be highs.

You can do it. I was finally fed up too. There is lots of encouragement here and support. The administrator will be here soon to steer you in the right direction. Good luck to you!!
So pleased to read this. Oh yes the highs more than outweigh the lows. It does take time but the journey I'm on is one which I have created myself just for me and I don't like it, I love it
Take a look at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), or in the drop down on the 'Posts' page (it says 'arrange by'). Read the Welcome Newbie thread, then move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you.
Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news.
Have a look at the NHS 12 week plan, as many people have had success with it. Also use the BMI (can be found in the pinned Newbie post) to find your target calories, it's important to eat enough. This was a major turning point for me, realising I could eat anything I wanted as long as the calories are accounted for 😊
Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate 😊
To the right of the HOME page (bottom on a mobile), you'll find Events. In there, you'll find links to our daily Weigh-in's (you will choose just one day per week), our Daily Diary, where we post our menu and exercise plans, for accountability, advice and support - which is great to get ideas of what other people are eating and I have to confess to nicking some of their menu's and our “What's happening today” thread, where we pop in for a chat.
Be aware, that the HU app doesn't give you access to all of our important features, so we advise that you use the full website page
We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too 😊
I too am fed up! I have had a think and got my dog on side - we are walking 2.5 miles every day (I have even got up early today - yes a Sunday! So we can go before I have to go out, i used to walk her maybe once a week with the rest of the days throwing a ball in the garden, haha she ran i stood still!)
I am also reducing my portion size and trying to make better choices most of the time. I haven't done a before photo or measurements, I will do them later tonight.
All good wishes to you Sid72. You certainly sound as if your mindset is strong and I think that's probably the most valuable asset we have when we begin and progress through our weight-loss expedition. Stick to your resolve and you'll get there. This forum is a great resource to help you.
I agree wholeheartedly Sld72, I am not dieting I am eating healthier and living a healthier life style so far I have lost 41pounds and I have learnt to make healthy food choices. Good luck on your journey.
