Hey everyone! Just found this app. I think it's about time I focused on losing that extra 3stone ( although it seems impossible) 😂

Welcome to the weight loss forum.

Take a look at the Welcome Newbie post in the Pinned post section at the right hand side or at the bottom if your on a mobile. Have a look at the nhs 12 week plan, many members have had success following this plan. Use the BMI checker to work out your daily calorie allowance. Take your measurements at the start together with a photo so you can see the changes on the days the scales don't move.

Below the Pinned posts are the Topics where members share a range of weight related subjects.

Have a look at the Daily Diary which you can find on the Home page in Events. It is where all the members are sharing their daily plans on what they are eating and any exercise they are doing. This thread will give you some ideas on how to start.

We have daily weigh in's so why not come along and join us today. You can find the weigh ins on the Home page in the Events section on the right. Just click on the post in Events and record your start weight and any loss/gain or maintain for the week.

You may notice that members have a grey box next to their name, these are achievement badges. All new members have a "newbie" badge to begin with.

Please note if you are using the new HU app it does not have all the forums features on it, so we suggest you use the full website version.

To get the most of the forum be active, share tips, recipes and experiences. Read some of the posts they are very motivating.

Hi SarahB81, you look fab in the photo. I know it seems impossible just try being more active generally, walk for say 20 minutes a day, I walk my dog. I have 10 stone to lose. I started calorie counting and healthy eating yesterday and I started walking my dog myself yesterday too. I am replying to your post because when I was 3 stone overweight I grew so despondent that I thought it was impossible to lose weight and I gave up. I now have so much more weight to lose. Don't think it's impossible like I did.

Hi SarahB81 please don't think like it is not possible, I never used to lose any weight on any diet before I joined here, I found out what my problem was on here and have now managed to lose 2 1/2st so far so am really pleased. My husband keeps joking about even asking where has his wife gone. It was his idea for me to lose weight so I just reply saying that he stole her and put me there instead. He can't answer to that too much. My problem before was that I wasn't eating enough calories to be able to lose weight so my body thought I was starving it and turned what I did eat into body fat and this weighs more than eating the extra calories does so it stops you from losing weight and sometimes puts weight on instead. To make sure you know how many calories you should be eating to be able to lose weight you should have a look on the NHS bmi calculator as this gives the amounts that is personal to each persons details whereas most of the other sites that give you amounts tend to just give out average amounts that is one amount for women and one for men instead. Most of these are less than the amounts given by the bmi calculator as well so it does cause you problems too. Good luck with your journey.
