One week down!

Well that's first week done.lost 3 pounds.I'm happy with that considering I had 2 days out where healthy eating was not on the menu! Even though I know slow and steady is the way to go in still have conflict in my head .I've given up so many times if I haven't lost at least double that in first week.normally I'd be saying it's not worth it and give up.well not anymore!!!! ..........Pamela

That's a pretty impressive loss and I'd be happy with that!

Slow and sure is the way to go and being able to eat out and enjoy social occasions has to be a part of the plan so that you can maintain your goal weight once you are there.

Any loss, however small, is a step closer to your goal. If I look back at my weight losses when I started, I lost 2.75lbs the first week and it took a total of three months to lose my first stone.

It took me a year and 5 months (130 weeks) to lose 4 and a half stone or 63lbs, so when you work it out that is on average under half a pound a week.... clearly some weeks I lost more, sometimes less and sometimes I gained or stayed the same!

Looking back, I'm pleased it took that long. It then took me another 18 months to "learn" how to maintain - I gained back almost 2 stone, but thankfully that has now gone and I've been pretty well maintaining for the past 6 months. Pretty confident I now know what to do, and won't let the weight creep back on.

Wow you've done amazing well done.it's hard to break the binge starve regime I've followed for years.even when at various slimming clubs I'd bad at the beginning of the week then so strict for a few days before weigh in.ridiculous way to live!!!!!!

Pamela that is fab. The difference this time is that it is going to be a change of lifestyle and not a diet. You can do this.
