One week down, one pound down....

So first week back to it and I've manage to loose just one little pound.... It's in the right direction I suppose!

I'm pleased that I lost something I guess but actually very pleased that I've managed to get back to my running. Having not run any distance since last october I plucked up the courage to go for it! I thought to myself go big or go home so I devised a 3.5mile route which is what I used to do regularly. I thought it would give me a good idea of where my fitness is now. I anticipated completely dying along route and having to drag my heels home... But although it was hard work I ran every single yard and completed it in 42minutes! Ok so not very fast but I did it! I'm looking forward to testing myself and I'm hopefully going to do the same route again tonight.

I buckled on Saturday night and had a takeaway with my partner, but I literally cannot remember the last time we had one so it's not a regular thing but definitely was a bit of naughtyness... Other than that my diet has been pretty good sticking under 1200 calories and resisting the various office biscuits on display.

Next week I'm hoping to do more running and keeping an eye on what im eating - low carb, high fibre! Onwards and upwards - thanks for reading and I hope you're week's going well!

Start: 12st 4lbs

Week 1: 12st 3lbs

Well done for losing 1lb sd, that's 2 packs of lard and no mean feat :)

I'm wondering why you're sticking to less that 1200 calories though, as that's even less than the minimum NHS guidelines of 1400? Have you put your details into the NHS BMI calculator, as I'm sure that your calorie range will be higher that you've been eating? Eating fewer calories doesn't necessarily equate to higher weight loss. It's quite likely that eating more would result in losing more :)

Well done for getting back into your running, that will be such a boost to your fitness and feelings of well-being :)

Keep up the great work, onwards and downwards! :)

My thoughts exactly - surely the run will burn off a good few hundred calories which leaves you much less than the minimum of 1000 recommended for general health 😕

Well done on sticking to plan, and I believe we need treats regularly if the new lifestyle is to be sustainable 😊 But please have z think about your calories, I wouldn't want you to make yourself ill.

Thanks Moreless, I've settled for 1200 calories after trying the 1400 - but I didn't seem to loose anything?.. In fact when I'm not dieting I don't usually even go over 1800 calories let alone the 2000 recommended, I think I would probably gain if I did.. Although I exercise 3-4 times a week, I work in an office so I'm fairly sedentary... Perhaps my body doesn't need the recommended amount?

You obviously have to do what's right for you Sd, maybe the answer is more in what you eat, rather than how much :)

Wishing you all the very best. Let's face it, if you continue to lose 1lb/week, that's 3st 10lbs in a year! Very nice! :)

Well done you! A 1lb is great better on than off and don't forget you will be starting to build dense muscle from your running taking that into account you are loosing it a healthy way, also we have to have the odd treat now and again life has to be worth living we are human after all. 👍😊
