I'm back again after a one year break...same old weight and still wanting to lose 1 stone. During that year I did manage to lose 1/2 a stone but complacency and gluttony, both associated with France and its patisserie means I am back to square one..hey ho! However, this time I've joined forces with a friend, we've started today, both with the same desire, and we'll see how it goes...10 stone here I come!

Welcome back struggle
I hope your friend will be joining us too
As it's been such a long time that you were here and things have changed completely, I'm going to give you all the newbie info and a newbie badge
Take a look at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), or in the drop down on the 'Posts' page (it says 'arrange by'). Read the Welcome Newbie thread, then move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you.
Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news.
Take a look at the NHS 12 week plan, as a lot of people have been successful with it, making sure to enter your details into the NHS BMI calculator, to get a calorie allowance tailored to your personal requirements. Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate.
To the right of the HOME page (bottom on a mobile), you'll find Events. In there, you'll find links to our daily Weigh-in's (you will choose just one day per week), our Daily Diary, where we post our menu and exercise plans, for accountability, advice and support and our “What's happening today” thread, where we pop in for a chat.
Be aware, that the HU app doesn't give you access to all of our important features, so we advise that you use the full website page.
We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too.
It's only left for me to wish you well on your journey
Hi struggle ,
Welcome back! I remember you - and it's great that you're back again. I love French food and am also acquainted with its delicious pattiserie - I enjoyed half a French croissant today infact - it was yummy!
Anyway, just wanted to say 'hello' - I used to be called 'Lowcal' when you were here previously, but I've changed my name now to 'Zest'.
I hope you have a great week, and I'd like to wish you the best of luck with your weight loss goals - 10 stone - here you come!
Zest
p.s. Great to hear you have a friend joining too - and similarly, good luck to your friend for an excellent Weight Loss Journey.
Gosh, how abstemious...just half a croissant. I'm afraid I'm an all or nothing person. However, it's comforting to be amongst friends again, though I have resisted rejoining for months. One has to get one's head into the right frame again, I feel.
Thank you for your support and Zest is, in my opinion, an excellent choice of name.
Thanks so much, struggle - and just to say, it probably sounded 'abstemious' to have half a croissant, but I was sharing a brunch with my hubby and we were splitting a French Petit Dejeuner and an Omelette - which is why I had only half a croissant! The entire Brunch was about 780 calories, so I wasn't restricting myself very much at all that day.
Hope you have a great week.
Zest
