Have completed my first week of careful eating and feel a bit livelier. Hoping that If I can keep going for another week I'll have the courage to get on the scales! It's going to be a long haul but going to take the advice of breaking my goal up into small steps.

Good for you. What's the worst that can happen? Draw a line under past behaviour and look to the future. Keep an eye on the bigger picture too. Your health and happiness, having friends and an active lifestyle.
