First time ever in size 12.

One of my friends has just forced me into a shopping spree and to my delight I ended up in more size 12 clothing than anything else. I've always been a 16 sometimes 18 to have boob room but 5.5 inches down this year has dropped me 2 sizes. I'd never have thought this was possible, onwards and downwards to my healthy waist size and bmi. Hopefully I won't end up putting on now as over 6 months in my kitchen scales are running out of battery and I'm getting a bit bored with calorie counting. Even if I end up putting on this week, I'm still so motivated to hit another 1st by getting in the 9's. Good luck all with your journey.

Congratulations - and remember you may still need to calorie count to maintain :)

You must be so happy :)

I am and I know but wouldn't it be nice to have a magic formula where you just knew what you can eat without scales and logging it. Well we can dream I guess and have the occasional blow out with damage limitation in mind.

I've been maintaining for about 5 weeks now and am slowly moving away from calorie counting. Everyone's journey is always going to be different but after 6 months I've started to get a vague feel for what makes sense to eat and what doesn't.

Couple that with weekly weigh-ins, if I stick a bit of extra weight on one week then I can do something about it in the next.

Still a work in progress and if it all starts to head south then it will be back to calorie counting.

Good to know there's hope that if I can get to the point of maintaining which hopefully will happen later in the year I might be able to give up counting calories.

Thanks but you've got a 6 stone badge, you've worked harder than I ever have. Keep up the good work.

I should never have allowed myself to get to need to lose 6 stone. I will always regret it, fortunately I am addressing the problem successfully now - better late than never!

Hindsight is a wonderful thing, unfortunately we all make mistakes but it's how we learn from them and move forward that matters. You've come a long way and are still working hard to get where you want to be. That's so much more important than what got you there in the 1st place.

I will thanks and I'll never take it for granted. It's just too easy to put on and so hard to shift.

Well done on getting down to size 12. Stay motivated and who knows where you will be in 6 months time.

Thanks, hopefully at least in my healthy bmi and feeling less guilty about the occasional blow out. Or that's the plan anyway but either way never going back to my 13 stone high or anywhere near it. Feel so much healthier and happier, that's all I need to remember to keep me going in the right direction.

Thats amazing, well done you! Somehow going down the dress sizes is one of the most satisfying parts of this journey.

It certainly is but couldn't have kept up the motivation this long without the support from this forum. Something else not to be taken for granted and so pleased I could share my success with people who care and understand what a big achievement this is for me.

Thanks, having never been that size before I didn't think it was possible but have now realised with commitment to getting healthy anything is achievable. Good luck with your journey to get back there, just don't stop trying as it doesn't matter how long it takes to get to the destination as long as your mostly moving in the right direction.
