Is it working

So...unfortunately I happen to be one of the worlds most impatient people when it comes to weight loss! I know I' ve not even been doing this for 2 weeks yet but I cant help but feel its to easy. or that maybe Im doing something wrong?!

I have been following the NHS 12 week plan, I have been counting calories, checking what Im eating, drinking more water and It just doesn't feel difficult enough to make a change. I have always been under the impression that weight loss should be a gruelling experience, Im struggling to think that eating carrot sticks with humous as a snack makes a difference. I m desperately trying to keep patient and stick with it but its tough!

Sorry to be a bit of a bumer on a Tuesday morning.

I felt like you when I started and if I try to explain what I'm doing to family they don't believe me. After years of diets where I had to follow strict rules this seemed too easy but after losing 15lb without much difficulty I know it does work!

I don't think of it as just losing weight. Yes, I do need to lose weight, but what I really wanted when I started the 12-week plan (in January 2016) was to be healthy. I was uncomfortable in my clothes (and horrified at the thought of having to buy ever bigger sizes) and very unhappy with the way I was panting and wheezing at even tiny amounts of activity.

So look at it this way, you're not going on a diet. You're making a few changes for a healthy, sustainable lifestyle. And it won't be sustainable if it's always hard work! :)

After all, the hardest part is finding that motivation to start in the first place. Good luck! :)

If you try to change too much, too quickly, your brain just says no. This is one of the main reasons people fail. It's much easier to coax yourself into little changes, and apparently it takes 12 weeks to break a habit.

As VickyDLM said, struggling at something is not sustainable, not in the long term, and I think most people would agree that the thought of a life comprised of a never ending cycle of diets is completely disheartening. Much better to achieve what you want with gradual change.

If it's not too personal a question, how much weight have you lost in the two weeks?

If you are finding it easy don't worry, as long as you are eating your calories, having fun and losing weight why worry 💝😆

I can honestly say I'm loving this forum, the healthy eating is suiting me, exercise not me I'm having fun and enjoying my journey (3 stone down while having fun can't be bad 😉😉)

Relax and enjoy yourself
