Best pub drink??

MrsEmilyWoodMalloy profile image

So I'm off with the husband to meet a friend in the pub. What's the best option to choose for a drink that's not gonna use half or more of my daily calories???

Water??? Lol 😂 Seriously, alcohol converts to sugar and then to fat so be warned! However, I like a drink and so do many who successfully lose weight, and it's important to maintain a healthy balanced social life if the plan is going to work long term.

I like a G&T, and make the tonic last two rounds, so I'm a cheap date as well! All the calorie contents are listed in the NHS calories checker 😊

Enjoy!

Have a lovely time at the pub! If I remember correctly, a gin and slimline tonic is about 75cals! xox

I usually go for a gin and slimline tonic. 56 kcal or any short like vodka or rum with Diet Coke. Of course non alcoholic is the best and less calories. Water or Diet Coke no calories. Enjoy

Oops looks like I've been counting my calories wrong on my G&Ts lol. Flipping MyFitnessPal 😆

Thanks all! I love a good tipple!! That's the saddest part about losing weight. No red wine 🙁 (or at least a lot less of it!).

I generally go for the 'less of it' mantra 😊

I find it's not just the drink but if I drink too much I make bad choices on food as well. I still drink but in moderation however I didn't last night. Bad head today, going to make sure I eat healthy today.

That's a very good point a SukiV 😊 It's not just the alcohol calories but the over-eating as a result as well 😕

Friday night is the hardest one not to drink on! You have my sympathy but a good healthy lunch will clear that head up I'm sure!

Haha I play it safe and go for Diet Coke! I never used to like it but maybe my tastes have changed. We'll see.

Hmmm . . . But something I would encourage tbh . . . See the sugar free challenge for details 😕

Lime and soda water is another option if you don't like Diet Coke.

I'm usually a wine or vodka girl but recently I've been enjoying lime cordial and slimline tonic with lots of ice and a slice! Very refreshing in this weather and not a lot of calories either. But if I fancy a glass of wine 🍷 then I'll have one topped up with lots of ice and soda water, lasts longer too

That would be my solution for you too MrsEmilyWoodMalloy 😊

Water, with plenty of ice and slice (lemon/lime), or with lime cordial added....nice and refreshing

Soda water for me with a slice of lemon actually squeezed in so you get the lemon flavour

BUT ........ I do like my wine :) I have spritzer these days though :)

I went with Diet Pepsi in the end. It's not bad, better than it used to be!
