Its hard though when its freezing cold and straight from the tap.
Filter Jug is great that way your kidneys don't act as the filter and you can keep it at room temperature. Lets start with 4 glasses a day shall we?

your reminding me of a good point i seem to convince myslf my endless cups of tea are suitable as my water intake but its not , good luck x
Tea does actually count towards your daily fluid intake, as does the water in the food you eat. If you only drink tea or the like, though, you would need a bit more fluid than the norm. The need to drink 8 cups of water a day is an urban myth: snopes.com/medical/myths/8g...
I always have a litre bottle around and use that, cos i forget to count how many i have had and i just find it easier to keep count.
haha I'm the opposite to you Mazhar1, I like my water cold!
The one good thing about me sitting down all day is that I constantly have my cup topped up with water from the kitchen so I can drink water all day. Its great as a distraction as well!
But why does your fitness person say that the fluid in tea and coffee doesn't count? I am surprised to hear that.
I will ask her reason behind it next time I see her - but I just googled and this is what traditionally 'experts' have said in the past.
But I guess as knew knowledge gets revealed this may have changed. Good question
Thanks - I will keep you posted.
Cold water is better for you as your body burns more calories to keep warm. I keep a 2 litre bottle of water in the fridge at work (I am the only one in our office of four who drinks water) and this lets me keep tabs on my intake.
I know recent reports have stated that the 8 glasses a day is a myth, but I get headaches if I drop my consumption to less than that. As bumblebeaz said, it is also a good distraction.
i remember going to see a dietitian or something who told me my tea doesnt count i cant remember why but would love to know, cant wait to hear your reply x
Tea & coffee count very marginally, but I wouldn't count it due to its diuretic effect\any caffeinated drinks , gas filled drinks and PARTICULARLY BLACKCURRANT are bad for your bladder. (I work in Urology!)
Does fruit or herbal tea count as your water intake?
Hi Folks,
Don't muddle drinking water with hydration - other fluids are just fine for hydrating you, including tea, coffee, fruit juice, etc., etc. You also take in a certain amount of hydration from the food you eat.

after a lifetime habbit of not drinking last year I found myself in hospital on a drip for 5 days suffering from a virus and severe dehydration even though my kids were filling me with more water than id ever drunk in my life which meant a sheet change every day I was soaking the bed with sweat, my blood pressure was extremely low to the point i should be flat out. this for me though iws the norm and eventually the hospital agreed after checking my notes this was a normal thing for me for whatever reason my body doesnt absorb fluids the way it should, this may be because of my IBS this may be a conributing factor to my IBS, this most definately is an indicator why my BMI is so high also. I work in a factory made up of two main aeas a forge and a manufacturing hall both massive the forge is so big and chuck out so much heat this is recycled to heat the manufacturing hall great during the winter nightmare during the summer, littered all around the factory are water fountains which everyone else seems to frequent alot. after working in for for 3 years I noticed just how much I dont have the urge to drink water considering everyone else is in excess of 2 litres per shift the guys in the forge easily 4-6 litres per day, whereas me id have my two routine cups of tea a day morning and afternoon break, purely habbit that feeling the urge to drink. Since starting this Im filling up my water bottle and forcing myself to drink at least 2 litres a day first few weeks were horrible my body didnt know what to do with itself and 7 weeks in im still in the loo every half hour lucky for me the toilet right next door to my office. I am still struggling but every day im noticing more and more that im now starting to look for water my body is now showing signs it wants to drink, ie dry mouth throat etc
yeah its a apin the toilet trips and yeah everyone in my office is asking the question why i keep going i think they think im skiving but im starting aslowly to feel better for it
