Hiya, just started my weight loss today. So pleased to have found this forum. I've got 4 1/2 st to lose so will be around for quite a while☺hope to get to know you all along the way x

Take a look at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), or in the drop down on the 'Posts' page (it says 'arrange by'). Read the Welcome Newbie thread, then move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you.

Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news.

Take a look at the NHS 12 week plan, as a lot of people have been successful with it, making sure to enter your details into the BMI calculator, to get a calorie allowance tailored to your personal requirements. Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate.

We run a weigh-in every day of the week and you'd be very welcome to join one of them. The threads can always be found in the Events section, to the right of the HOME page, bottom on a mobile.

We also run a Daily Diary, where we share our meal and exercise plans for the day. It's a great place to get ideas and to keep us focused. The link can also be found in Events.

Be aware, that the HU app doesn't give you access to all of our important features, so we advise that you use the full website page.

We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too.

Welcome to the forum. I am losing weight for my wedding despite the fact that my fiancé and I haven't set a date for our wedding yet. I am currently following Slimming World but weighing in at my mum's house instead of going to the meetings. I have lost 7 1/2lbs in the last 5 weeks. I love the forum and I appreciate the support that I get from other forum members as well as family and friends.

Hiya, thanks for the warm welcome. Well done on your weight loss that's brilliant and what a great motive your wedding will be. I'm mainly doing it for health reasons I'll be 62 in three weeks time think it's about time I got my act together. Also me and hubby are going away with family next August and I want to be able to go in swimming pool with the grandkids

You have a lovely reason to be here, holidays with the grandchildren are amazing 😆

Take it slowly, making small changes they are more sustainable, sugar swaps (change 4 life) has some fantastic ideas on cutting the sugar, and some lovely recipe ideas,

Set yourself some mini goals (7lb loss, I stayed within my calorie allowance all week, I walked into town, I drank 8 glasses of water everyday) and reward yourself with non-food rewards for each goal you achieve

Stay active on the forum it really does make a difference, join a challenge, join a weigh in, the daily diary is a great for help, advice and tips on your food and exercise plan, ask questions, chat or just read the posts

Tip: relax enjoy what your doing and have some fun.
