Anyone got a good idea to stop munchies at night
I'm new: Anyone got a good idea to stop... - Weight Loss Support
I'm new
Hi and welcome, Mark
Follow the instructions and you'll find lots of hints and tips
Take a look at the Pinned posts section to the right of your screen (bottom if you're using a mobile), read the Welcome Newbie thread, then move through to the challenges, where we hope you'll find at least one that will appeal to you.
Move down to the Topics, to find a variety of threads, collated into specific topics for ease of access and we ask that you also 'file' your own threads, so that others won't miss your important news.
Take a look at the NHS 12 week plan, as a lot of people have been successful with it, making sure to enter your details into the BMI calculator, to get a calorie allowance tailored to your personal requirements. Don't forget to take your starting measurements and a 'before' picture, as they can be very motivating on days that the scales refuse to co-operate.
We run daily weigh-in's and you'd be very welcome to join us. The threads can always be found in the Events section, to the right of the HOME page, bottom on a mobile.
Be aware, that the HU app doesn't give you access to all of our important features, so we advise that you use the full website page.
We've found that to get the best out of this community, we need to be active on the forum, as it's where we exchange information, get motivation and inspiration and make friends. We hope that you'll join us here, regularly, too.
It's only left for me to wish you well on your journey
My top tip is to drink peppermint tea, it makes everything else taste revolting!
My choice is to not eat anything after 6pm -7pm. I find I dont sleep well if eating after that time.
The only time I have the munchies is after drinking alcohol. I could eat a horse and still come back for more. I try not to drink during the week and usually fail miserably on Fridays😂😂
I just keep imagining me slimmer, seems to work for me.
Is the snacking a result of being bored? Sometimes when watching TV we need also something to snack on, is this just habit?
Try to find something to take your mind off snacking. Take a shower when the urge comes, do a puzzle or go for a little walk. Drinking a glass of water to see if you are really hungry can help and just good old perseverance for a couple of weeks and the body will learn the new routine.

Spearmint chewing gum. I just posted the same advice on someone else's post!
Try freezing some grapes, eat them a few minutes after you take them out. The texture changes the taste completely.
I like jelly!
A warm welcome to the group Mark. Like Jan I try not to eat after 7pm. I found that cleaning my teeth early evening keeps me from munching.
Thanks to everyone for the great tips
More protein at your last meal.🤗
Go to bed early! The only thing that seems to be working for me - but seeing I'm posting this at 22.45, you can guess how that worked for me today, sigh.
If you have a cupboard upstairs to store your goodly.and your downstairs, mostly likely you will be to lasy like me to bother getting it.if in your bedroom then that so easy to get to.
I had two large packets of chocolate buttons given to me for Mother's Day, now I knew I would eat both of them in one go, so I put them in a "MAN" tin that has a lock on it and gave the key to my husband, so that he took a handful out each day when I came home from work to have with my cup of tea. The "Man" tins can be bought from gift shops.
