So yesterday was bad day. Woke up in an odd mood, like I'd got the weight of the world on my shoulders but nothing at that point had irritated me enough to warrant the mood.
Goes into work and things go from bad to worse, long story short I hate my job. But I don't know what i want to be when I grow up (I'm 30), a buzz feed quiz last night said I should be a footballer π€
Add to that the hubby buying cakes and us having an argument about something menial and pointless, I tanked them.
Today I'm trying to pick myself up and not let eating rubbish affect me and the hard work I've put into losing weight so far. It's just so hard tho to be positive sometimes when it feels like there's no light at the end of the tunnel.

I hope you are feeling a little better for sharing π It must be difficult to be unhappy at work π Maybe it's time to look for another job? I can sympathise with not knowing what you want to do, I discovered in my 40's I liked retail and I was good at it! Despite everyone from grammar school head teachers to careers advisors telling me to 'aim higher'!!!!
I also suggest to speak to your husband about how important it is to you eat properly. I have managed to lose weight mainly because my hubby is on side, although he still eats some things different to me. I 'hide' tempting foods in boxes in a cupboard, sounds silly but it works. At the end of the day I want to slim and healthy more than I want to eat these things.
So good luck in picking yourself up, it's not easy. Do you get any chance to get outside during a normal day? Fresh air and daylight have a positive effect on our mood hormones π
Thanks Anna. Difficult days are never fun but this forum is so much help. I'm looking into what I would love to do and then go from there. I don't think banking is where my heart is. I often go for a walk by mine. The weathers not often on my side though π
It's always difficult to deal with anything if you hate your job. If it's possible I hope you'll be able to find one more suited to you. Try to get your husband to lend some support on your diet as that will make things much easier.
Good luck π
I've got the week off, and do the want to go back to work. I hate days like you had yesterday. It's like you can't shake off the bad mood. Hope today is better π
Hello Mrs Davis, so sorry to hear you are feeling 'meh'. I hope the 'venting' and sharing helped to make you feel a little better. Some days are like that, without rhyme or reason, but if you are not happy at work and you may not have slept well without being aware of it, then all the other niggles combine together to take you to exploding point.
I understand about the job, I was a secretary but retrained as a Midwife in my forties and never looked back since.
Obviously a change of career would be the best thing but as that is not an instant fix there are other strategies you can use. Getting out in the fresh air is a good idea, especially now the weather is improving, that will improve your mood enormously. Have you tried hypnotherapy tapes to work on your subconscious to give you a more positive mind set? Glenn Harrold does some excellent ones that can be downloaded onto iPad or iPhone.
Just remember how far you have come, 2st is a massive achievement. You don't want to sabotage all that good work, so try to stay on track and keep positive. We are all here for you.
Thanks EJ. Can't play football to save my life haha. Midwifery is something I've been looking into. Quite a bit of studying but it'd be so rewarding. Here's to a better day. Xxx
I hope you are feeling better today. Good luck with making sure you do manage to find a job you enjoy or you will never be able to fully relax and enjoy yourself. With your husband maybe you should point out to him that he must remember why you are doing this and he should try to support you. Especially if he wants this part of both of your lives to happen as well, if it was the other way round you would at least try and support him. If he is over his bmi I would tell him he maybe should try and do this with you because if there are any medical problems for him in the future he could be refused help by the NHS because of his weight too. As you know it is true after what they have done to us.
I thought this might be the case because my hubbys the same but it was worth asking as it was a poss. Glad to hear you are having a better day though. All the best with it and glad to hear you are thinking positive. Al the best X
