Second time around

So two years ago I went through a massive lifestyle change and with the help of Slimming World I lost just over 4.5 stone and almost reached my healthy weight BMI however life got in the way and I ate myself through a stressful year and sadly put the weight back on (and some). The reason I'm writing this post is because I've had so many struggles with my body, when I was thin I thought I was fat and for many years I hated my curves but only recently have I really began to own my body, its by no means perfect but its mine, and its beautiful. I'm doing this again for my health, but I was just hoping someone might have some tips to help me out in my first week to stay motivated.

Hi wattrus93

Welcome to the weight loss forum.

Take a look at the Welcome Newbie post in the Pinned post section at the right hand side or at the bottom if your on a mobile. Have a look at the nhs 12 week plan, many members have had success following this plan. Use the BMI checker to work out your daily calorie allowance.

Below the Pinned posts are the Topics where members share a range of weight related subjects.

Take your measurements at the start together with a photo so you can see the changes on the days the scales don't move.

We have daily weigh ins so why not come along and join us. You can find the weigh ins on the Home page in the Events section on the right. Just click on the post in Events and record your start weight and any loss/gain or maintain for the week.

To get the most of the forum be active, share tips, recipes and experiences. Read some of the posts they are very motivating.

Have a good first week.

Rose

The best motivation for me is this forum, it's a great way of getting help, support and tips, it's also a fantastic way of distracting me in the evening (my worse time for snacking)

Staying active on here really is helpful, there's challenges to join, people in the same boat, some very inspiring people, fantastic admin team and best of all no nastiness.

Good luck

I totally agree with KatMT. Involve yourself in this forum by reading the posts and if you feel like it, by posting your own and/or replying to others.

Good luck Wattrus93

If you have lost 4.5 stones once you certainly can do it again,

Three things I would suggest.

1. Plan, plan and plan some more. If you fail to plan you are planning to fail. Map out your meals, do your shopping, prepare the food. Just the act of doing this gives you so much more willpower and control and suddenly those 9 p.m. binge desires can be met with a healthy prepared snack instead of whatever is lying around to devour.

2. Be kind to yourself. We spend so much time picking on ourselves about our weight and our hair and clothes and and and we forget that we need to be our biggest cheerleader not our bitchiest frenemy. Be good to the person you should love the most. You.

3. Meditate. I really think this helps me a lot. Just 20 minutes in the morning, sitting listening to Tibetan Singing Bells itunes.apple.com/us/album/t... and quietly focusing on nothing.

Just a couple suggestions.

You can do this. I KNOW IT.
